Just heard from a Memphis reporter that Hugh is staying in Oxford. Agreed to a 4 million a year deal with significant raises for his assistant coaches. Sources are close to Sexton and Sean T.
What are the sources used last week now saying about this situation? Several on here had good sources last week saying he was gone

I think most folks were just rattling the cage. I don't think most actually expected him to leave.

Technically he has to leave to return.

Actually headline if true is...Sexton gets Freeze a raise.

Was there a UF hat on the table at his "re-signing"

I patronized one of Sean Tuhoy's Taco Bells this morning and was asked if I'd like to add $1 for "charity" to my order, no doubt to finance the raise. Freeze confirmed staying.

If he was offered then this is a mistake on him long term. The OM aren't that loyal so a few 6-6 seasons would result in the pink slip.

Tough sledding in the SEC West.

Ole Miss fans are going to applaud Bjork in the way he handled this. I personally disagree. When will an AD finally get a backbone and call Sexton's bluff? I do not believe Freeze is warranted the kind of raise they are mentioning.

Freeze wasn't offered shit from Florida- but it will be framed as "he turned down Florida to stay with us!1!!"

Because IF Freeze did leave... Bjork would be run out of town, and it would be tough to get another AD gig... He's just buying time until he gets a bigger/better opportunity. Once their fancy new basketball court is finished, he will have something decent on his resume. Can't screw it up by letting the fan's hero leave for another gig.

There are very few AD's with enough clout to gamble like that. Bjork is still just a newby.

Was there ever a doubt? You will all find out once Florida hires their coach that Freeze was never offered.

That stuff was all smokescreen coming from Freeze and his agent. We bought it. It looks like UM did too.

coach, mey prolly so but he's not worth $4MM year. Not for the kinda of mediocrity he's going to produce. When they fall back to 6-6 and 7-5 for a couple of years (AND, it will happen) then the fan base and alum will start "we pay him $4MM year to win 6 games" and then the seat gets extremely hot. To whom much is given, MUCH is expected and there's no place in the world that statement hits home and is more true than Oxford, MS.

Yep, he lucked up with Bo knowing his system from Arkansas State but Chad Kelly the first year will be average at best. If they win more than 7 games next year it's on Womack's defense keeping them in it.

year", blah, blah, blah. All I can say is they are stupid. They lose their all time leading passer. Plus, they lose the following on defense: Prewitt (huge loss), Golson, Shackelford, Bryant and Lewis. Those are big losses. They just look at the fact they have the Nkemdiche's, Paidwell, Conner and Big Softie coming back (all good players mind you) but they have no understanding of the team as a whole. I swear, I've NEVER met more delusional, low football iq people in all my life.

Are those not all eligible for the draft? Manziel started as a RS Freshman then left after his sophomore year

Treadwell has a fairly significant injury. I wouldn't bank on him being back next year.

They aren't going away. Neither are we.

Next year's egg bowl will have two top 20 teams most likely. Unless the bears don't have a QB. Problem for them is that we do, and he is gonna be pissed.

State is going to be much better than any of the mighty rebs expect...they will be worse than they expect. They should both finish with winning records again though
