Its starting to look like this Battle for The Golden Egg wont be much of a battle. Every second they are seeing this its one less second they are preparing for us. We will beat that hotty toddy ass and send their savior coach running to gainesville. He gone

He would be an absolute idiot not to take that job. I think he would do really well there with the athletes he would have at his disposal

What's the spin going to be if Freeze leaves for a bigger job after his best season being 8 wins while Mullen stays at MSU after we win somewhere between 11-14 games?

OM would clearly be seen as a stepping stone and bring their fans back to the reality that in the end they are still only Ole Miss. But we would be shown to actually be a place where someone thinks they can win long term and doesn't run at the first "better" job that came around. We know Mullen has been contacted before but he decided to stay in Starkville. How awful would OM fans have to feel that their home grown guy left in year 3 after an 8 win season?

I was told by a connected usm supporter back when Bucky was hired at Fredo that before fredo offered Bucky, he was the leading candidate for the usm job.

After fredo ran through their list of high profile names and had no takers, they rolled back to freeze and offered it to him. No brainer, right? SEC job or usm should be an easy choice. But according to this guy, Bucky was conflicted because of what he was walking into at olemiss (character of their current players and expectations of that fanbase).

Take it for what it is worth, but if there is any truth to that story, Bucky may not have a whole lot of love for fredo after all. And it has to be in the back of his mind that dealing with what Mullen is doing won't be easy on him in regards to their fans.

With Hugh obviously crootin' is a HUGE deal... So he would almost assuredly head to warmer pastures immediately with a lot of his current staff. Who would coach the bowl?

If they are already one foot out the door the players have to know.. Could get ugly Saturday and the uglier the better.

Saturday about 5:30 he's going to be talking about how they've got to recruit better.

remember nutt's comments about crootin' after an egg bowl loss too though. it's more than just a beaver clip, it's the confed nation's mantra. don't forget ears and his pine box either. they may not know.

first it was ears, now it's beaver teeth. the first resulted in our trip to the ATL, maybe with a little help from the barn, we can repeat the event.

So, when does Bucky escape Oxchwitz?

Do we really want Freeze to leave? He doesn't develop talent well, even though he recruits well. I think him leaving may give them a chance to get an up and coming coach.

good point. but I just think it would be funny as shit if he bolted. ole miss search committes for a new coach shouldn't scare anyone.

Freeze isn't going anywhere.

He may not but it won't because OM is his dream job... If Fla gives him a Ligit offer he gone..

Considering Foley has stated he isn't interviewing until after the regular season me thinks you are spot on.

No, Ole Miss is not, has not, and never will be his "dream job," despite what he says to the disciples. But he's not going to Florida.
