I have been thinking all last and this week that Ole Miss was going to offer a scholy to JR College QB. They have no choice to.

Dan Mullen was brutally honest with Virgil. As a result, Virgil gets to commit to one of his many other offers.
Poor Devante Kincade and Ryan Buchanan doesn't have an opportunity to do that. Freeze SIGNED both of those 4-star QBs to his team. Without having a chance to start on the football field, Freeze is going another direction.
I'll guarantee you either Kincade, Buchanan, or both WISH they had the chance that Chason Virgil has. They wish they could go commit to one of the other offers they had. But its too late.
Ole Miss got 8 stars of crootin hype out of those guys and now Ole Miss is moving on to what they hope is an already-developed QB in Juco Chad Kelly. I feel bad for Kincade and Buchanan. Freeze really screwed them.
No high school QB should ever sign with Ole Miss. Name another HS QB that signed with Ole Miss, became the starter, and got better as a player. You can't - except for Eli Manning who David Cutcliffe developed.
And what became of Cutcliffe? After being the winningest football coach in Ole Miss modern history, they fired him. Ole Miss fired the best QB coach in the history of the school because they haver no patience for developing QBs.

It couldn't happen because we have much, much better options. But I would love to one day see one of their HS QBs that they gave up on transfer to State and have a good career. That would be priceless.
They really don't know what to do with QBs up there. If you don't walk in the front door already knowing what to do, you are SOL because you aren't learning anything while you're there. And you'd better have some teflon because your ass is getting thrown under the bus if you don't come through.

Does that commitment put them over the ratio of thugs to parole officers? They may have to put another one on retainer to keep the workload evenly spread out.

Buchanan is a legacy rebel. His rebel grandfather owned the jitney jungle stores in the Jackson area. He will gladly stand on the sidelines and hold a clipboard for four years.

Check out BeastMan's thread- he called it. It's just another example of why so many Fredo's read Elitedawgs

Both of those guys have been on campus for two years. If they aren't ready to start yet maybe that's on Freeze for not developing them, but I don't feel sorry for them. They still have a chance to compete with Kelly for the starting job. If they can't beat him out, maybe they just aren't good enough?

Or 2006, or 2010, or 2011?
Their QBs since 2006 are Brent Schaeffer, Jevan Snead, Jeremiah Masoli, Randall Mackey, Bo Wallace, and now Chad Kelly...that is laughably awful. All of them are transfers, 3 of whom were kicked off their original team. Even their backups, like Seth Adams and Barry Brunetti (Jeremy Liggins?), are usually transfers.

The last QB they recruited from high school who ended up playing QB for them was Spurlock, I believe. And he eventually move positions. The last successful QB that they truly developed in-house was Romero Miller (I know Eli came after him, but Eli showed up on campus already polished as a QB).
There are two lessons learned here:
1. If you are a high school QB, do not go to Ole Miss. Give the two four stars on their roster currently a call and ask him how that is working for them.
2. If you are a world-class screw up, but can play the QB position, Ole Miss can always be your fallback plan.

I thought LSU was in the picture? Does that mean Jason Pellerin is looking elsewhere?

I feel for Buchannan. Freeze is finally being exposed. He tells these kids they can come here and compete for starting jobs only to screw them earlier. I was basically told earlier today if this kid signs, Kincade is transferring and Buchannan will consider quitting.

So for this week with this news it can't be easy to prepare to go to battle for a guy that promised you chances and now isn't even giving you a shot. You want to fight for that guy? I doubt it.
Just wait it will get better .. This kid had to be police escorted out of the Clemson football facility when he wasn't named the starter ...

I have seen Kelly play many times. He is big, looks great, but his play is nothing outstanding. Yes, his team has dominated, but currently Mississippi Juco is Scooba and the 11 dwarfs. Actually, on a National basis, it is Scooba and the 100 dwarfs. Buddy Stevens' teams are that much better than everyone nationally. Scooba will skulldrag the Iowa team next week for their third National Title in four years (and they were one freak play away from four straight National titles).
