I'm not surprised- he's been calling State "we" quite a bit on twitter. Seems like a good kid and is without a doubt- a great athlete. And he might be a help to Coach Ray as well

Just to clarify he didn't say to us, just that he is making a decision. Said he was gonna shock everyone

I think the Elitedawgs should give him a SO on twitter for encouragement

Did anybody see his tweet congratulating Dante Scott (the 2015 prospect that committed to MS State)? Could those two want to play together?

TexasDawg

Very possible, the two are from the same school district.

I hope he doesnt "shock" me

Does anyone have any info on him? Should this be something we are all really excited about, or is this a move for depth more than anything?

The whole comment about shocking folks kinda leads me to think he isn't coming here if this where everyone expects him to come. lol

Think he's a much better basketball prospect than football. Hopefully he doesn't play baseball...

He has already committed and decommitted from Vandy. Apparently they weren't going to let him play basketball and he wants to be a dual sport guy. Would be a great get for us

17-18 year old kids are gonna say shit to stir up the pot a little bit and to get all the attention. If you look at twitter the majority of his recent tweets are MSU related. I would be shocked if he didnt choose us

That's good. Would this be a bigger pickup for the bball team or the football team, though. I've heard several people say that he is bad raw as a QB.

I think it would be better for football, but that is just my opinion. He is a little raw but he shows tremendous upside and I think Mullen can develop him

He is asking for twitter followers. Needs a few more to get to 1700.

nobody is that raw

nobody is that raw

No joke. The development that Relf had was a minor miracle. One of my buddies was up here at a coaching clinic early in Relf's career and told me he was nearly hitting the porto-shitters in drills with no pass rush. He was that bad of a passer early on...

One time I saw Relf hit Mike the Tiger's cage during warm-ups in Baton Rouge and their fans thought he did it on purpose and got pissed off. It was pretty funny.

Nice for Rick Ray to pick up a 4 star player on Dans scholarship. Like others have said looks like a much bigger hoops impact guy.

Here's the thing though- He is with football all Fall and doesnt join basketball team until after the bowl game. Then once basketball ends he goes through Spring practice with football again. Most of his time will be spent with football

This is true, but a balance has been achieved by high level SEC Qbs in the past. For Rays sake I hope this can be the case

He hasn't committed yet, just saying.

I like Staley's tape, but he is a little thin and not that quick, more fast than quick if that makes sense and I just hope Dan signs one football only mobile QB in the mold of Dak/Relf.

I have a feeling he will and you can't pass on a talent like Staley.

Coach34

we need to sign 2 QB's

Does anyone know how many scholarships we have to give out?

Im assuming we will sign close to 20, but I keep reading that this will be a much smaller class. Does anyone know how small?

SaltyDawg

For pointing out that he hadn't committed, when in actuality hadn't committed? I'm glad he committed, I was just pointing out that I personally wasn't holding my breath. Like any other State fan, I've seen the rug pulled out from under us multiple times.

I prefer "realist", but fair enough.

18-20 will be my guess
