Made it through the smoldering stages of being a dumpster fire where we missed on a couple in-state targets -- and on the uphill side find ourselves dominating MS in basketball recruiting the same way we always have...

this is the best high school commit Ray has had, and it's not close. If we can find a five and actually let him play the 4, he will be hell to deal with.

I think it's a toss up between Hicks & Simonds but a skilled 4 man is definitely a lot harder to find than a really good 2 guard.

I think it's a toss up between Hicks & Simonds but a skilled 4 man is definitely a lot harder to find than a really good 2 guard.

I haven't followed basketball recruiting in a while but while looking up the Hicks kid I noticed there is a guy named Mario Kegler a 5* from Jackson for 2016. Do we have a shot at him? Looks like the predictions have him going to uconn or duke, but jw if someone knows anymore about him?

Kegler is no longer at Calloway. He goes to an academy in Jacksonville, FL. Kegler is really talented but has some Laquinton Ross in him off the court. I'm not sure how much we'll go after him.

Engie :Who would that be ? and Pastner will be at Memphis for a while ,no matter what happens this season.Not being funny but Memphis still could beat us by 20 with the talent he has .If you don't believe me ask Brad Stevens ,we both lived in Memphis.

I live in Memphis; are you talking about the same Memphis I've been watching this year? The one who lost to div 2 Christian Brothers? Yeah, there is plenty of talent there, but they look absolutely lost right now. Based on what I've seen out of us so far (including beating a team in CBU's conference comfortably), I'd be pretty confident about going up against Memphis.

The next 2016 prospect I hope we focus on is Clayton Hughes. 6'5" 6'6" SF from Jackson, TN. Athleticism through the roof but also a knock down 3pt shooter. Will prolly come down to TN, MSU, & OM. Ray has been on him extremely hard since the spring. He would fit in perfectly with Simonds & Hicks.
