Simonds a 4* SG from Georgia is committing tonight at 7pm. Final 3 of Kansas St, MSU, & Florida. Looks to be down to us & Florida. They're considered the favorite but there's a small buzz we could get great news. Saying this get would be huge is an understatement. Keep your fingers crossed.

Wouldn't he be our 3rd SG, not counting Malik, which we hope to get as well? I guess it doesn't matter if some of these guys can play the 3.

Also I guess going to a 4 guard lineup isn't a terrible thing if they're all super athletic/long with good strokes.

I wonder how much the football team's success has helped other sports recruit, due to the university getting more visibility nationally.

Easily Ray's biggest recruiting catch ever. Also we should be getting good news soon on Darius Hicks the top MS prosoect in the 2016 class.

If we get hicks too, ray has done some very good recruiting considering our performance lately

A lot. Stricklin commented on this very thing last week in an interview with Bo Bounds. He said the other coaches told him what a difference it has made when they contact recruits.

I've seen a bunch of video on him. Really pure stroke, but doesn't settle for the jumper. He has a great handle and loves to put it on the floor and get to the basket. Maybe not an elite athlete in the sense of Zimmerman/Sword/Houston, but a very good athlete. No. 2 junior in the state of GA.

Yep has a very mature game for a Jr & not a small guy either. Kid doesn't mind initiating contact on the way to the basket.

Hicks is 6'7" and one of the guys that signed the other day was 6'8", both power forwards. Is that not a little short for PFs, or is that an ok height for college bball?

Also, how did we get Simonds to pick us over Florida?

Simonds UF offer was long rumored to be uncommittable, which would make sense. That doesn't take away anything really, because he had a bunch of other excellent offers as well..

I'll take kids with decent athleticism and tons of intelligence/awareness/maturity all day over guys with tons of athleticism and little else (not commenting specifically on anybody you mentioned, just making a general comparison).

I love what I've seen of his game. He looks to be a bit of a throw-back type of guy, and not just because of the shorts. He looks very comfortable with both hands and has very good ball-handling skills and the ability to get past his man with ease.

This is a massive pick-up for Ray.

6'7" 6'8" is fine for a face up 4 man in college.

Yea, wasn't Lawrence Roberts 6'8 or 6'9? I'll take that at PF

I think Rhodes was like 6'7 or 6'8 too

Agreed...

I'd like to see us really go hard after an elite point and center now. We've gotten and recruited all of the other pieces now...

I think we have the point guard already in Tookie. He is gonna be fun to watch.
