Daniels starting to show everyone why some of us were so high on him based on practice reports...

Hit a 3, couple good drives, and actually handles the ball bringing it down the court quite a bit...

Notes:

Fred is starting at the 2 with Daniels at the 3. Fred seems infinitely more comfortable there. After watching today, I'm more convinced Daniels is a 3 than I was before. And in the last 2 games, I'm getting higher and higher on Roquez at the 4 even if he is a bit undersized for it...

Very pleased with Daniels and Houston thus far. Don't want to get too excited playing SWAC teams but I'm interested to see what we look like vs Utah State, St Louis , etc

The part that bothers me about it is when we take the risks in transition -- and then go timid when we actually get that ball on our end of the floor around the 3 point line. If we're going to be risky pushing it down the floor, we need to stay risky getting it to the rim. Otherwise, the risk is pointless...

MVSU played @ Indiana on Friday and were down 54-31 at the half in that game, en route to losing 116-65. We are up 58-34 at the half. Doesn't mean much because Indiana isn't supposed to be any good this year, but just thought it was a notable goal for a final score...

Wow florida lost. The SEC is really struggling this year. Glad we are getting it done, even if it is a lessor opponent.

I'm liking the defense down low with Ndoye, Ware, Black and Roq and I'm impressed that the team has all figured out to just be patient and get the ball down low for limitless free baskets. Valley has zero size.

It's nice to be able to exploit that instead of being the ones getting exploited...

Black and Ndoye are making a huge difference -- even though they aren't giving us much on the offensive end. Just having big bodies with the ability to give a few fouls and good defensive minutes helps things tremendously...

They are supposed to be pretty bad. Picked 10th in the B1G. Some rumbles about Crean after last year's disappointment...

I just checked where Utah st and St Louis stack up this year in their respective conferences and Utah State was preseason picked 9th out of 11 in the Mountain West and St Louis was picked 9th out of 12 in the A-10
Our non conference schedule is pretty easy this year and we should wins some games

Tried to watch, but it was brutal - turnover after turnover after missed shots. We are irrelevant in men's basketball - but our women's team is going to be good.

We've turned this into nothing but street ball. Just totally careless with everything we are doing and now up to 23 turnovers. Not impressed so far.

Our freshmen were very sloppy in the 2nd half, but I'm pleased overall

When Sword comes back, I think our starting lineup will be a very good one. Sword, Thomas, Daniels, Johnson and Ware is a very long, athletic lineup. Our freshmen are talented but playing very much like freshmen. I'm glad they're getting good game experience, though. Come SEC play, we won't be doing mass subs, but they'll hopefully have enough experience for spot minutes here and there when one or two of our main guys are in foul trouble or need a breather.

So in the span of 4 days, we beat WC by 10 and controlled the game the last 25 mins without our best player- whereas Bama fought them wire to wire.

I think Roq might be our best all around player and if Houston and Daniel continue to improve they might help overcome our weak point guard play.Really hope Chicken can play some point. With Him and Fred at the 1 and 2 we should be greatly improved defensively

I agree TC...then have Ready and Bloodman as the back-up guards. This team could be decent this year

One of my big gripes has been no defense from our guards--but with our best defended (FRED) at the two and a with Chicken and his height then that should go a long way to making this team better. Bloodman is a scrapper , but when a team wants to score they just post him up and shoot over Him and Ready.

Meh- we only had 5 or 6 at half and a 24 point lead. We got sloppy in the 2nd just ****ing off and playing the younger guys a lot. Not having your 2 best G's playing causes extra turnovers also. We need Sword back ASAP
