It's not often life throws you another chance. Well we get one this week. The #webelieve disaster is on the verge of being avenged. That game sent us into a downward spiral until I think the aTm game last year. This year (I'm hopeful) shoots us into a perennial top 15 type team for the foreseeable future.

I hope every practice is closed with clips from that '12 game. We feed on revenge it seems so give em even more to avenge

On November 13 1999, we were in a similar situation where we into bama for a 2:30 CBS game and lost:
"1999: The Bulldogs, 8-0 and ranked #8, traveled to Tuscaloosa to take on the 7-2 #11 Crimson Tide, looking for their fourth straight win in the series. However, Alabama defeated MSU 19-7, aided by three turnovers, a blocked punt, and what Mississippi State fans considered to be a pair of "questionable" holding penalties. The win clinched the SEC West for the Crimson Tide and ended the Bulldogs' bid for their second undefeated season."

It will be almost 15 years to the day this Saturday and what a perfect time for revenge.I'm not usually one to read too much into coincidences, but it's interesting that it's been 15 years since that game, this game will be played on the 15th, and OUR leader wears #15......

But we did not have Dak Prescott then.

This is a program defining game. You beat this kind of Alabama team at their place in prime time with everything on the line and you have something special you can hang your hat on for years to come.

60 minutes of football on Saturday could elevate us to a level we've never seen. We would be the unquestioned #1. We would be a Vandy win away from clinching the SEC West. We would have the front runner for the Heisman Trophy. We would have a story unlike any other in college football. It's not often you get moments like these. We've already changed the face and future of our program. You win this game and you change the face of college football. You change the national perception of your program. That's a cool opportunity to have.

We weren't undefeated but we were in a similar situation in 1981 as well. Both us and Bama were in the Top 10 and had one loss. They beat us, I think it was something like 14-10 or 17-13. John Bond was intercepted in the Bama endzone from around the Bama 10 with around a minute to go to seal the win for Bama. I was at that game and it remains to this day the only college game I have ever been to that you could hear the pads popping up in the stands.

A buddy got us sideline passes IN Tuscaloosa somehow for that game. I believe the score was 12-7 in the fourth quarter when ALABAMA's forced to punt. I'm standing about even with Pig Prather back to receive the punt. He fields it and breaks loose ultimately being tackled at around the 5. But knowing he could go all the way, I stop watching the return to look behind the play for flags. I kid you not, I'm maybe 15 yards from the back judge who hasn't moved far from where the punt was fielded. The play had long since passed his area. But I'm watching this guy...and he calmly looks left, looks right, and eases to his back pocket and gently drops his flag to the ground. Block in the back. Never said who. Didn't have to in those days. I've never seen something so blatant in my life and I'm surprised I wasn't escorted from the sidelines after voicing my displeasure at the guy.

I seen it dawg

None of this is relevant. We are in a different time now. We will etch our place Saturday.
