Here we go. I'll be near the court in my Rick's Rowdies shirt. Come say hi if you see me. Tipoff is at 6 PM and admission is free.

Looks like everything electronic in the Hump was redone. New scoreboards in each corner of the bottom level. Completely redone scoreboards on the upper level. New clocks and shot clocks on the baskets.

I am. They'll be on the @mwmbasketball account. I'll try to post them on here afterwards.

On another note: SEC asked us if we could experiment with a 30-second shot clock this game. Usually we run a 35-second shot clock. This should quicken the pace of the game.

January 31st vs LSU has been designated as a white-out game. Team looks bigger and everyone is hitting jumpers during warmups. Improvement from last year (though that's not saying much)

Ready, Bloodman, and Zuppardo definitely will not play. Chicken can play, but isn't expected to.

That's great considering Dunlap isn't a PG. Who is going to dribble the ball up the court? Fred and Dunlap I assume, and maybe a walk on.

I am excited to see Dunlap, Houston, Black, Ndoye though.

I hope Daniels is good enough to keep us afloat.

Good question. Think I'd rather have Daniels take the ball up the court instead of Fred and I've never seen Daniels play.

Gotta love Bloodman gutting it out. He is one of the toughest competitors on our team.
Also besides Bloodman that is a tall athletic starting lineup.

9-2 state. Ndoye came in and got a foul or 2. Houston just hit a 3.

Ndoye looks like a skinny freshman. Needs to add about 20 pounds.

Houston looks really good. We desperately are missing a true point guard tonight. Getting chicken back is crucial.

if we a re a legitimately good defense, we can potentially win some games this year. That's got to be our bread and butter because we're not going to be a high scoring team and we're going to struggle out rebound most teams.

Started getting sloppy towards the end of the half. Overall, looks like a different team for sure. The defense is what Rick wanted to run for sure. Full court trap is what he wants to run and then transition to a 1-3-1 zone out of that. FT shooting, with the exception of Roquez looks much better. Roq is only 1/3 from the line.

This isn't the NBA, much less an AAU team. A front court 2-deep of 6'8", 6'9", 6'9", and 6'10" is plenty of size for a college team. In terms of athleticism, you might have a point, but that still remains to be seen.

My thoughts:

Houston will be a really good player for us. Plays D, shoots it, and moves well.
Gavin looked really comfortable shooting from 17-19 feet. That's huge for his game.
Daniels was quiet, but effective. Physical player.
We really forced the ball down to Ndoye when he was in the game. I think Ray wanted to give him a lot of work for evaluation purposes.

I agree. Gavin's development of his mid-range jumper is huge. If he has legitimately added that to his repertoire, then he's going to be huge for us. Demetrius looked comfortable out there from deep. Granted, both of his three-balls that he made were open but still. Travis Daniels was also really good. I was surprised to see as few points as he got. However, he didn't score until the second half. Fallou is still very raw. I mean very, very raw as a talent. He looks lost a few times on the court, but still.

Is Daniel supposed to be a SCORER? He averaged somewhere around 9-11 points in JUCO, Normally a JUCO player does't come into the SEC and score more than he did in JUCO.
