John Holland leads in OBP and average (.567/.480)
Next is Gavin Collins (.508/.417)

Followed by........

Wes Rea (.536/.350)

Reid Humphreys (.500/.381)
Seth Heck (.500/.300)
Jacob Robson (.424/.321)
Luke Reynolds (.400/.308)

I think this kind of gives us a good idea what/who our starting lineup is going to look like. I think Britton will certainly be in the mix.

I'd be more interested in slugging %.

What position will Seth Heck play? Surely he will be in the lineup!

I'm guessing Heck at short and Holland at second. Todd?

I have said on here before, I think the most important stats for 2015 that I am predicting, we will average over 5 runs per game and our ERA will be less than 4. We will win a lot of games. 40 plus.

Hopefully Wes can get his head right at the plate this year.

I was thinking the other way around.

40+. Wow that's strong for a down year. I think we are a regional team. That's about as far as I will go at this point. Pitching is going to have to improve to say anything more.

Probably Holland at SS and Heck at 2B. Holland has a lot better range than Heck and he also has a stronger arm.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if our infield is:

1B- Rea
2B- Britton
3B- Reynolds
SS- Holland

With Heck at DH. Thinking outside the box a little bit.

We need to figure out the bullpen. It would be nice if Dakota Hudson, Austin Sexton, and Vance Tatum step up and move Fitts, Ross, and Laster to the bullpen.

I've been told the pitching hasn't been good at all

How has Jacob Billingsley looked? Can he help the bullpen? I heard he had a good summer.

We will go as far as our pitching will take us. We are finally better on offense- and pitching is a huge question mark

I think the pitching will come together and be really good. We have the deepest staff in years.

Just by looking at stats and reading practice reports, it sounds like we've been really inconsistent on the mound- specifically at throwing strikes. Cohen and Thompson have both said multiple times this fall that we aren't attacking the zone like we should.

That's what happens when you have a young staff. Hopefully they can grow up soon.

About the pitching staff- one good thing about Butch is he is not afraid to be unconventional. If we have to piggy back all of our pitchers and ask for three innings, we will do it. I like doing that in college baseball because it's pretty difficult to stock a staff with three elite starters. We also have some seniors- like Fitts and Ross- who have been there and done that. Preston Brown is a fourth year junior and then we have Luke Laster who is a senior. That's four guys who are known commodities at this point- we only need to find 2-3 more to step up.
