LSU 19? I'm already not liking it.

sleepy dawg

Notre Dame should not be in top 10, sorry.

sleepy dawg

I like Auburn though. They deserve it.

Auburn will take care of that.

sleepy dawg
10-28-2014, 06:39 PM
I guess I do like the fact that they aren't factoring in "recent performance" too much like the polls do.

And the non-SEC world just had a collective aneurysm.

Especially if they put Alabama 5.

I totally agree with the top 6

WTF!?!?! Ole Miss?!?!? **** those guys.

They are getting much respect for beating Alabama. And should be. But they won't make the playoff.

Breaking News: Harvey Updyke seen running out of his trailer cussing Ole Miss as he gets into his 72 Ford F-150 and screams off into the night heading west.

Bad part - it would have been completely demoralizing for Ole Miss U if they had been about 9. Now, they still have hope.

I agree... They were on the verge of falling apart. This will pull them back together.

Yep, Scarlet's in front of Tera shaking her first and screaming "We still control our destiny!".

That's until Saturday night when destiny runs their ass over.

It's actually perfect. They were down and dejected and fighting amongst themselves. Now they are all united again. But they are riddled with injuries. Being united won't matter when auburn rolls in and kicks their teeth down their throat. After that they will be done for. That loss will be 100X more demoralizing.

I still say this will wind up being worse than the BCS.

The good news is auburn should be motivated too. I was just hoping for Ole Miss - 9. they caught a huge break for some reason. Maybe Archie put in a good word before he left.

So using the logic that was used to keep OM in top 4, if OM and Bama keep winning and we beat only one of them, it would seem we would stay in the top 4. That is because we would have one loss to a top 4 only.

I agree with you. At least we knew what we were going to get with the computers. Humans are unpredictable. That being said, I can't really say they did poorly with their first ranking. My only complaint is that they are looking hard at who teams beat, but ignoring who they lose to it appears. Not sure how that will end up. But this thing will shake itself out a lot over the next few weeks.

Tsun at #4 what a mutha 17n joke!

The bottom line is, they have a very, very good win. And the committee obviously takes that into consideration. There are only two teams in the top 6 to have beaten another team within the top 6, us and Ole Miss. And their loss was on the road in Baton Rouge.

Bama's best win to this point is West Virginia. Oregon's is Michigan State. Ole Miss' trumps both.

I really have no idea why people are all over Bama. They haven't done much yet.

Yes. It will be almost impossible to keep us out if we have only one loss.

So beating a #2 trumps losing to a #24?

SEC Network had us losing in Oxford due to turnovers. Wow

I love love love how they ranked everybody. It shows they aren't looking at the fact that bama is playing really well right now. They are looking at the totality of the season and not who's hot. Love it

Having auburn, ole miss and bama ranked where they are is totally beneficial to us in terms of being in the top four at the end of the year if we are a one loss team.

If they're only looking at who you beat, and not who you lose to, how come LSU is 19? They should be the best 2 loss team in the rankings by far, as they lost to 1 and 3 and beat #4.

Answer this geniuses!

Like others, I'm glad Bama didn't make the Top 4 . Their best win is West Virginia . They don't deserve it no matter how much Finebaum are others and cramming them Down our throats

No, it isn't. And no, they would have been 2. We're just so conditioned to think any loss must drop you a certain number of spots in a poll.

We're all so blinded by our desire to downgrade Ole Miss at every opportunity to realize that everything the committee showed tonight is GOOD NEWS for State.

And the reason LSU is 19 is because they lost twice and got thoroughly outplayed in both losses.

It's just annoying to me that you have analysts speaking out of both sides of their mouths about us. They all agree we should be #1 but they all think Alabama and tsun are better than us.

Just strange. Oh well

Bama just didn't get fixed all of a sudden with wins over AM and Tenn. Those 2 teams suck. Both BamA and OM will have 3-4 losses before this is over and Aub will have 1. Really need Ga to beat them so it knocks them out. I don't want another sec team in it.

And they didn't even play well against UT. They looked like the same team that barely beat Arkansas. They're a good team, nothing more. We will expose them.

I saw this coming when Archie "resigned". O way Ole Miss was less than #1 before last weekend. arch had to quit to make it look like the he had given up his influence.

I'm with you on this. I've heard people saying they are putting more emphasis on wins versus losses and others saying its on a complete body of work. Well it cannot be both of these based on tonights rankings. LSU has only lost to #1&3 and beaten #4, yet they are ranked 19?? Where's that logic. Based on LSU's season, they are a top 10 team at worst at this point. Also, KState should have beaten #3 Auburn, but they are behind OM who's only loss is to #24(#19) LSU?? None of this makes sense to me if the committee is taking a objective unbiased look at the entire body of work.

To me OM and LSU should have been 9 an 10 with LSU being the highest ranked 2 loss team. Tonight's poll just tells me we better win out or we may be in Orlando in January. They obviously don't look at taking Boise and Memphis into the 4th with 4 and 1 point leads. Or winning the turnover battle by 3 and still losing. It's obvious the Archie factor and campaigning has influenced these first rankings. It will not matter after The Gus Bus makes it's next stop.

I'm happy with #1, but from #4 down I see a ton of flaws and bias rankings. Oh well, we win, we in!!!
