The most Mississippi State thing ever would be for MSU to be solidly at #1 in the AP for the first time ever, only to have the new playoff committee come up with some contrarian system that puts us on the bubble.

Not even slightly a chance that committee puts 3 SEC teams. Not saying this isn't an accurate assessment of the best 4 in the country... but Oregon will be in there. And there will be someone like TCU or Michigan State there as well.

I thought you couldn't have three teams from one conference? Same as BCS rule?

There is literally no argument to include Michigan st until at least they beat Ohio st, and even then I don't think there's much argument until a lot of other teams lose a 2nd game. Imo the big 10 is at the very back of the pecking order and need a ton of help for a 1L champ to make it.

You don't think even for the first poll they release... knowing that a couple will drop out?

I think there will be only 1 SEC in their final (top 4) poll.

MODawg has me wondering now...

is the mandate on the committee to list the best teams (in order) real time?

Best teams by conference?

Best resume?

Has this been established....?

I'm googling, now....

Would be absolutely shocked if we weren't the number 1 seed

There's no controversy if we win out. Stop (limit) the run vs Arky at home and we win. Beat Bama at their place and the whole world recognizes. After that it's about winning in Oxford. That can be done with inspired players and a game plan that isolates our game makers against theirs.

It's all about what we can do. Not about a committee.
