Maybe, but it would be hard for the committee to make a case that Ohio State deserves a bid as a one loss team. Ohio State lost at home to Virginia Tech while Bama lost of the road to Ole Miss, Ole Miss may lose at home to Auburn or MSU, Auburn loss on the road at MSU, and MSU may lose on the road at Bama or Ole Miss.

All of those losses are better than losing at home to Virginia Tech. The public will crucify the committee if that happens.

The positive of the committee releasing rankings starting in late October, is that they will get to have a public taste test. We will know the committee's decision on this in the first poll.
