"Brunetti and Brassil were picked up by OPD for possession and brunetti took ownership NB is in the clear but BB was arrested and tested positive (thru the roof apparently) for marijuana. suspension of expulsion for BB maybe coming. "

I honestly hope Freeze doesn't kick them off b/c it could turn into an out of control program quickly.

I disagree. Wallace is rehabbing his throwing shoulder. If he doesn't fully heal from that or gets another injury they have Mikhail Milker (who is terrible), and 2 true freshman. 1 of those (Kincaide) is athletic as hell but 5'10 190 and the other (Buchannon) was a very average QB in academy ball. They have some depth at CB but none for this year at QB. If they lost Burnetti, it would be very bad for them

I'm with you. There's no telling how this team melts down when you get the recruits they sucked up to so much on campus mixed with Anthony Alford, nick brassell, Barry burnetti, etc. Let them have a bad start and freeze could be on a hot seat by the end of the year

OK ... maybe I embellished a little, but when I have seen Brunetti in the past he hasn't been impressive at all ... yeah, it would suck to lose your back-up QB but that is all he will ever be while Wallace is there ... I fully expect Wallace to be 100 % by fall practice ... I have had two major shoulder surgeries myself from HS football and the recovery is a bitch but with that amount of time he will be fine ..... besides, they have a 300 lb QB if all they want to do is run the QB keep

The 300 pounder has yet to make it to campus. And Wallace took a beating last year- if they try to run him that much again- I dont think he finishes the season.

Agree, Coach. If they run Wallace like they did last season, he won't make it to November. And he's not the kind of QB you want to ask to wing it forty times a game either.

Was Wallace's throwing shoulder injury related to the beating he took last year, or was it a legacy injury?

It is now deleted but it was started on Rebel Grove by jerrelpowe57 at 11:47 pm on 5/30. It then traveled to sps at 12:07 5/31. Unfortunately this rumor started on an OM board by OM posters. It'll be only a matter of time till we hear Ol' Hugh saying they were suspended indefinitely for breaking team rules. But, NB was never going to qualify anyway so in his case it really doesn't matter.

But believe you me I'm going to keep a watch on those police records because it'll only be time until the truth comes out. These Bears can hide their shit forever, they are going to get busted one way or the other. Either here and/or when the NCAA shows up when they are done investigating them for paying those recruits they brought in this year. I mean c'mon why would anyone from Illinois go to Oxford, MS, that just beats all I have ever heard.

To your 1st statement- I think it will be close on Brassell- they are going to do whatever they can to get 1 more season out of him.

As I said, nobody thinks their class was on the up and up. And I consider Oxford "Grenada without the lake".

But their party scene and the way it's set-up is very attractive to 18-19 year old kids. And then you throw in the extras they provide due to them being EXTREMELY organized- you can see why they are recruiting better.

This is one of the problems I have with our recruiting and the town of Starkville- we have to get an area coordinated for partying. It would make State an all around better place. Its too spread out. A party strip would mean more fun along with less drinking and driving.

Did they buy Tunsil? Sure.
Brassell? Yep.
And almost every kid in last years class? Yes sir-re bob. But guess what so does everybody else.....including us.

Here's the thing about recruiting, ESPECIALLY in this conference. There are 2 tables in the "casino" of recruiting. You have the big boy table where LSU, UGA, Bama & UF play at. Then the other table consists of everybody else. Now when the big boy table steps in each others toes over a kid it's fine even on a consistent basis. But when somebody from the lower table starts to try and get up to that big boy table it's only a matter of time before something bad happens to the migrater. Troll or no troll this is recruiting.

Political Hack
06-01-2013, 06:42 AM
57 nailed it. Everything is fine until you step on someone's toes. Unfirtunately OM doesn't realize this and attempts to kick dirt in our face every chance they get. They haven't turned us in in a while, but they damn sure threw some gas on the flames. They don't realize us fighting each other and the big boys at the same time kills any chance either school has at sustained success. In their minds mutual destruction is better than State winning. We used to be "smart" and think they'd come to they senses, but after Jackie and now CDM, it's obvious they'll stoop to any level to try to destroy the program.

UT and UNC reported the BS allegations last time though.

Shut down the cotton district to vehicle traffic from the bin to bulldog deli and down to stagger. At this time, the whole area becomes an open container area, turn it into a little bourbon street. Problem, I see a lot of fights happening if this were to happen.

Thats ok- fights happen. The cops could police everything much easier in a centralized location. It would also eliminate the need for major roadblocks.

Then Starkville would have an area for people to hang out in and go from place to place within walking distance. There would be investment in the area because of demand. It's win-win for everybody
