On first down offense. That's a huge part of our success.

there is one great reason for that... BALANCE! We are so balanced on offense we can run it or throw it on 1st down..

People make such a big deal about 3rd down conversion rate.... but the key to success on 3rd down is success on 1st and 2nd.

This is exactly the reason our 3rd down conversion percentage stat is misleading. We regularly get the first down on our first two plays. Id like to see teams # of first downs vs 3rd down percentages.

If I were Spurrier I would respond to questions about third down by saying, "Third downs? We don't find ourselves in that situation very often."
