View Full Version : Maybe I missed it, but why was Devon Bell on the bench?

Cooke's leg was huge on kickoffs. Was wondering if Bell was suspended or got in the dog house or if the coaches just felt it was time for a change. With that, I hop Cooke is kicking FG's all week in practice. Sobiesk just can't seem to get the lift nor the distance to be consistent.

They took the redshirt off the new guy (walk on)and are very high on him. Very consistent and long on kick offs, I wonder if he gets a shot at FG's this season.

Jameon is the one I want to know about.

I read somewhere that Bell tweaked his groin and was unable to go at 100%.

Correct. Bell "popped" his groin on the last practice kick before the game and wasn't able to go. Cooke was told about 5 minutes before kick that he would be the new KO kicker and punter.

I loved what Mullen told Logan Cooke right before the kickoff, "Isn't this why you came to Msu", I never noticed Bell not punting or kicking off till after the game! Cooke was impressive!
