If anybody was curious, like me, MSU had maroon and white first for their school colors.
According to Hailstate.com (http://www.nmnathletics.com/ViewArticle.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=16800&ATCLID=926236#mw) we have worn maroon and white since our first game in 1895, chosen by our team captain at the time. aTm on the other hand started out with red and white as their school colors. They changed to maroon and white after a uniform order screw-up in the lates 1920's and stuck with it... according to the 12thman.com (http://www.12thman.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=205724599).
So, there you have it. We were first.
