Ole Miss has played on average the 83.75 ranked offense in the country and given up an average of 8.5 points. They have faced on average the 69.25 ranked defense in the country and scored on average 39 points per game.

State has played on average the 73 ranked offense in the country and given up an average of 16.5 points. State has faced on average the 54.25 ranked defense in the country and scored on average 41.25 points per game.

If you take out the first two games were State was doing whatever, the offense rank is 72 and points given up are 16. Defense is 32 and our points score are 34.5.

What does all this mean? We have played better offenses, played better defenses, and scored more points against those defenses. Ole Miss's defense may be performing slightly better but that is debatable. I'll take three of the four major categories.

Nice write up.... we'll see how good their defense is this week when they play their first ranked opponent of the season.
