Mr. Sammy Milner, age 66, of Brandon, MS passed away on September 25, 2014 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 1:00 ? 4:00 pm at Lakewood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 4:00 pm with interment at Lakewood Memorial Park immediately following. A native of Jackson, MS, Sammy Gene Milner was born on January 19, 1948. He was the son of Sam Irving Milner and Emogene Lofton. He graduated from Central High School in 1966. While there he was the Student Body President and Mr. Central High School. He was a graduate of Mississippi State.

Super guy! He was one of my classmates! Tommy Pharr to Milner was a great combo!

Sammy was all SEC and is still at or near the top of many Bulldog receiving records. He was also my first Bulldog "hero". Before the 1969 season, when I was 6 yrs old, his Mom gave me a button with his name and a hand painted Bulldog on it...I cherished it....Lots of really fond, old memories this morning...RIP Sammy.
