Really Malzhan should just stick with the run game because I don't think Marshall will ever get to an elite passing level. He is still having the same issues with the throws he had last year.

All Marshall can do in the passing game is chunk it. He doesn't read defenses well in the passing game and he isn't accurate.

Similar to Freeze, I find it interesting that Gus hasn't ever really been any one place for a period of more than a few years. I don't want to make more out of this K-State game than we should, but it is interesting to wonder.

Gus is a great play caller. However, he has been the beneficiary of some "right place, right time" mojo as well. Oh yeah....and he's lucky as hell.

No doubt. I don't want to confuse anyone with my opinion though. Auburn recruits very well and Gus is a good coach. They are going to be good, you can count on that. HOWEVER, some of their success has come off of confusing the defense, and I'm curious if some of that confusion is beginning to erode.

The funny thing I am seeing is Auburn's OL is tiring themselves down. They look winded and Malzhan keeps wanting them to go go go. Also, Auburn's OL and receivers are getting away with a lot of holds.

That what is frustrating. Our football history is less than steller, but in many of the big games we have lost, I can think back to one singular play that was there to be made, and we just botched it. Dropping the pick 6 vs Cam Newton, Auburn scoring last second last year, etc..

Could it really be that people that have voting power have mixed us up with TSUN once again and they are getting all of our votes? Like, a northwest sportswriter hears something good about us on ESPN one night and he attributes that to Ole Miss instead of us?

Freeze even said it himself, they aren't worthy of a top 10 ranking. Is it possible that each of us are top 20 teams and have each been hyped but the voters have combined us and pushed TSUN all the way to 10 and left us out cold because they are mixing us up?

Could be, but I think it's more likely that the media is punishing us for 2012 when we started 7-0 and got blown out after that. They are also punishing us for not winning against any top 20 teams.

I think many in the media realize and acknowledge, as you can see with many of their LSU game picks, that we are one of the BEST 25 teams in the country, but, due to the nature of how the polls value teams in terms of win/loss record, they don't want to rank us due to our recent history because they don't want to look stupid after the next 3 weeks.

Because of this, if we win this week, I think you'll see us rocket up the rankings because we would've addressed the pollsters biggest fear. If we beat A&M as well, they will throw us in the top 10.
