View Full Version : AT&T is pure &*^%$ garbage!!!

Customer service is ........I don't even know what to say. Complete garbage. I just live in a rural area where my internet options are limited. Anybody got any ideas? My son plays Xbox online so I need something decent. Those bastards have told me twice that I have the 6mbps DSL but we can't do shit. We got tech support on the phone and he told us that we were mis-informed (twice). We have the slowest they offer, like 768kbps. Oh, but I'm paying for 6mbps!!!

I thought I was going to have a heart attack when I talked to them the other day. I have to call them again tomorrow and I dread it already.

If some of you tech savvy guys have any suggestions, I'm all ears! Like Paul Finebaum.

Check and see if U-Verse internet is available to you. I live in an area where U-Verse Internet & Phone is available, but not the TV (has to do with system capacity). I had progressively worse DSL problems over the past 2 years. I switched over, saved money, and have not had a single issue since. AT&T installer told me that AT&T has pretty much given up on solving any DSL issues b/c they consider it dead technology. They only down side was paying $100 for new equip. Worth it to be able to have my son playing some streaming online game, my daughter watching Netflix, my wife staying on FB, and me reading ED all at the same time.

AT&T is terrible. I changed, but when I had them for home service they put internet on my bill which I did not order. Long story short, it took me about 5 months and between 15 and 20 phone calls to get corrected when it was their fault to begin with.

I agree. I have the 1.5 mbps, which I have never gotten. The other night it was 48 mbps. I told AT&T last week that there socalled high speed DSL was a joke. On my online account, it says I'm eligible for UVerse, but when I enter my phone, it says not available. I asked a UVerse customer service
rep, if they could give me some idea when it would be available, and he said that their policy did not allow them to say. So I told him so it could be a month, 6 months, 1 year or longer and he said "correct". I don't want to do it, but I'm thinking about switching from AT&T and Directv to Comcast Xfinity.
