And if Mullen decides to run Holloway up the middle for 2 yards or less time-after-time versus LSU, there will be plenty again. Don't try to equate last year's bitch with this one, or think you can get away with claiming it's the same people with the same "knee-jerk" reactions.

Mullen has done some really great stuff for us. He also did some REALLY stupid shit last year. Nothing he has done so far this year comes close, and pretty much all of us are pulling for him to meet or exceed reasonable expectations.

I posted 1 thread about the sub patterns. 1. I'll repeat, O N E. The rest of my comments were in response to threads saying "ALL IS WELL! All of you people worried about Mullen's subs are overreacting!". I have said from the start, if he stops it before the LSU game, and it doesn't show it's effects in the LSU game, I'm fine with it. Outside of that, my opinion has been, "stop bitching about hype and media respect, bc we don't deserve it until we beat a big boy, since we can't destroy the little fellas". Now if you want to call that "whining", fine. But at least I have original thoughts, am passionate about MSU suceeding, and don't sit around beating my own chest about my common football knowledge, while seeking approval from the biggest internet troll on the planet.

The bottom line is....We at MSU, don't have too many seasons in our lifetimes where the stars align. I feel like we have the talent, the facilities, the fan base, the schedule, and the COACHES, this year to have a magical run. Sorry that I get frustrated when I see that coaching getting in it's own way, and getting too cute sometimes. I point it out, because I don't want One of Mullen's goofball experiments to cost us a SEC championship. Is me saying anything about it going to change it...probably not. But I guess deep down I feel like if enough people vocalize the stupid decisions made, maybe it will at least make a coach think twice about it.

But like I said (before people like you instigated me), I'm done with it until LSU. If he wants to do it tomorrow, fine. But I guarantee you, Coach, and everybody else will be right there bitching if Mullen's rotations cost us the LSU game. So be patient, and worry about bumping your Armchair QB threads. There's been a thousand times I could have called you out over the years, but I respect that you're a passionate Dawg fan so I leave it alone. Guess that's not the way you operate. By the way, about people wanting Mullen fired....no, I don't...but You said in one of your latest ArmChair QB's that he deserved to be fired. 1. I respect you as a passionate Dawg and get your frustration. But can we all admit there is no reason to think anyone but Dak will play QB against LSU, barring injury? Damian might get one pre-determined drive, but that's it. And for the record, the Kang used to give his backup QB one drive early in games.

2. When I say Mullen deserves to be fired, I've been clear it's been in the context of how he's handled Special Teams. Looking at the entire body of work, we'd be fools to fire Mullen. He's on track to shatter the wins total and be our all-time winningest coach. We're very good in 2/3 of the game. And part of our STs are pretty good when it comes to punting and punt/kick coverage. It's FGs, PR/KR, and KO strategy that are awful.

3. You didn't want Mullen fired last season? Could've fooled me. Lucky for you, I'm too lazy to go back and bump one of the multiple threads from last year where you were all over Hud's nut sack.

4. Let's assume we really did play like garbage against UAB. We still put up 47 points and 40 were offensive. That should actually be an encouraging thought. As for the defense, we gave up a handful of big plays. 2 were against Redmond, the guy everyone thinks is an elite CB but who's barely played the last 2 years. (Thanks, Bracky!) One was against Calhoun after he'd tweaked a knee. And the last one was against Irvin-Sills, who probably won't play at all in SEC play.

5. Get used to the defensive rotations. We're legit 2-deep at DL and LB with very little or no drop-off. I just don't know why it drives people so crazy for Mullen to use our depth to its full advantage. It's smart football, from what I can see. Mullen is trying to develop our team depth for the murderer's row stretch of LSU, aTm, and Auburn. Damn all of you for making me agree with Goat (although I think C34 might've actually said it first), but we have to do things a little differently at MSU. Our football success, or rather the lack thereof, should speak loudly to that fact.

6. No hard feelings on my end. Like I said, you're normally one of my favorite posters, CD. I just think you tend to overreact a bit during football season. Hell, I have to guard against it sometimes myself.
