Guys, I have a birthday upcoming, and my wife is wanting to know what I want for my birthday. I'm a pretty low maintenance guy, and feel blessed for everything I do have. I didn't grow up in a family that did birthdays big, but my wife did. She told me that I'm not getting out of this year's birthday without some type of gift.

So...with it being football season, I've got MSU on the brain of course. What should I ask for that relates to MSU?

Tickets to Death Valley or some road game? The last thing I want on my birthday is to go and watch us lose, but a second trip to Death Valley (first in over 10 years) would be nice. Dont even know if I could get tickets though.

I think she's looking at something in the $100-$300 range. Any cool suggestions that maybe some of you guys have gotten in the past?

Drive over to Tuscaloosa that morning and tailgate before going to the game. Dinner at The Cypress Inn. Then drive back home. If history is any indicator, we play Bama much tougher than LSU. We match up well with Saban's team and you might just witness the biggest win of the Mullen era. Happy Birthday either way.

Get that pano pic of the new DWS from the Southern game- I remember seeing several options for frames that put the cost up above the ~$30 print.

If you're interested, try to get your hands on an MSU ice hockey jersey. The team is tiny & doesn't have any school support, but the jerseys are pretty cool even if you don't go for hockey.

How's your cowbell? Perhaps a custom, high-end cowbell to go along with tickets to LSU and a Muffaletta and cold Dixie at Central Grocery pre-game. Spend the day in The Big Easy, then drive up to Baton Rouge.

Another thought is to look into a "party bus" or something like that. Or perhaps she could rent an RV so your family and some close friends can party it up on the way over and back.

If you want to go to Death Valley stay in New Orleans and just drive in for the game. There's always something fun going on in the Big Easy and you wouldn't be around all those purple and gold clad idiots. Then you can go to the Saints game that Sunday. Even if you're not a Saints fan you can't help but have fun at one of their games.
