Tusculum allowed minus-100 total yards and minus-124 yards rushing to set NCAA single-game records in both categories Thursday night in a 71-0victory over the College of Faith in Greeneville, Tennessee.

They also set a NCAA record by recording 3 safeties in the game.

How is that even possible?

Stat line shows 5 "TEAM" rushing attempts for -126 yards. What is a "TEAM" rushing attempt?

Also, defensive stats show 19 TFL for -71 yards. That leaves -53 rushing yards that were accumulated without a TFL being recorded. How does that happen?

My best guess would be a QB sack or maybe a bad snap that the QB had to fall on behind the line.

Vegas, beat me to it...but yes, most likely the QB or ball carrier running out of bounds behind the LOS, or a bad snap that was downed for loss, or even possibly as a result of the safeties

Yeah, I noticed the "TEAM" thing in our stats against USM when we fumbled the bad snap. It said something like "TEAM fumble".

Anyway, that stat line is nuts. I wonder if there is video of the game somewhere out there.

If the SEC doesn't work out for Freeze, I know his next stop: College of Faith

Wouldn't QB falling on a bad snap be recorded as a rushing attempt for the QB? Same for a RB running out of bounds?

The only thing I could come up with was a fumble that got kicked around, then out of bounds or out of the endzone (no recovery --> no individual rushing attempt and no TFL).
