UAB depth chart

Here is their three deep depth chart for your pondering. My math was showing their d-line a little bit bigger than what was being reported yesterday. I show their starters averaging 269lbs, second string was 260lbs, and third string was 253lbs. Now, if you maxed out size across the strings you would get a line averaging 278lbs but that would be using two starters, a second string, and a third string. I did notice both their starting corners are 6'3" so we will definitely have to use the height our receivers have.

Their starting offensive line averages out to 6'4" 301lbs. Backups come in at 6'3" and 298. RT was the only Oline position they went three deep and he was 6'4" 245 so I doubt he sees the field much.

Starting LB corp is 6'1" and 212lbs with their backups 6'1" 214.

I see only one starting corner at 6'3". They've got another starter at 5'10". They've got a 6'3" safety though and that could put a damper on the long ball (not that we utilize it all that much anyway). Overall it's a very tall defense with only two players coming in under 6' (free safety and corner at 5'10").

I would look at that 6'5" 278 lbs. right tackle as a potential mismatch against any of our DL (especially Jones).

Looks like we will pound them with the run to open up the pass in this game. By 3rd qtr running and passing lanes will be wide open.
