Saw that. If all he did was miss a practice, suspending someone for one game is dumb IMO.

That was I was thinking. Thats pretty extreme. I mean, shit, suspend for the first half or something. This is a little overboard by Dan I feel

we dont know that was all he did- IF TRUE.

You can count on a couple of guys being suspended- it happens EVERY season

My feeling and this is a hunch is it is not for a game but maybe a quarter or something. I don't think missing one practice deserves a one game suspension though especially when you have teams like LSU and Auburn have players do whatever and still don't miss games.

Yep, apparently bringing in starkville HS to help out

What if he called the RB coach a "stupid **********"....and then missed practice? I'm not saying he did that, but I am saying we dont know what happened.

No big deal. Whoever is suspended, and however long they're suspended, is warranted I'm sure. And it's not like it should impact the game tonight. If this were another Okie State opener, maybe it would bother me....but it's not...so it doesn't.

I'm around Fulton people a lot and I always heard nothing but great things about Ashton and his family, so this is very surprising to me.

I hope he learns from this. I'm sure their is some jealousy on his part and his competitive nature wants to be the main guy for MSU. Immature mistake by a 19 yr old. He'll be a good one for MSU.

In D1 athletics if you just cut a practice for no reason you should get suspended for a game. This ain't pee wee where your mom can keep your ass at the house because you didn't clean your room.

**this post is made with zero knowledge of whether we have a suspension or not**

I disagree. It's about controlling the culture. We've had a terrible previous experience with what happens when coaches let the little things slide.

I'm not going to speculate on what the reason is but Shumpert is most definitely not playing tonight.

Exactly. If player breaks rule, then player deals with punishment. If we make exceptions, we might as well start heppin like OM.

This whole deal is just one more piece of evidence when I see someone stating "fact" on this board I immediately discount it. There is no such thing until it has actually come to fruition. Happens time and time again.

It's frustrating to not field our full team. I know how you feel. It's good that we know that our coaches are in charge of our football team, not the other way around.

*Delete. NM. I see where it was announced as violation of team rules.

Thanks for the edit. Just in case anyone thought I was dragging the kid through the mud, all he was doing was walking around with buddies in the street, not drinking or anything. I only brought it up because I felt it was pertinent to the discussion. Sorry if anyone was offended.
