Uh, no. That would be WP or The U. As it pretty much always is.

I'm going to get to town a day early next weekend for the Starkville-West Point game. That place will be a madhouse. I advise everyone else to attend.

Becoming common place for everything in Starkville to be better than everything in Oxford

If West Point is in town, I recommend wearing kevlar.

Starkville have any prospects?

Brady Davis QB ( transfer from New Hope ); Jaquez Horsely ( RB/ATH ); + a pretty good DL ( can't think of his name ) and an outstanding So. OL. Michael Godley PK has connected from 49 yds. in his first game this year and 43 in the current game against Oxford.

Don't know if it is a matter of the team they have around them, but as of this point in the season, I would take Brady Davis over Jack Abraham any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Both outside WR look very good. One is a SR, the other a JR I believe.

That's 6 for Davis. 3 to Leonard. Is anyone looking at Leonard, if not why not? He's impressed me, plays like Randy Moss.

Starkville have any prospects?

They have a DE who is a junior that is really good named Kobe Jones. He's going to be a Dandy Dozen type guy next year.

Metcalf is their best player by far. But they do have some good players like Abraham.

52-21 Starkville. Still plenty of time left in the 4th.

Thanks

Did some research; Brady Davis has committed to Memphis; Jaquez Horesly will probably wind up JUCO or mid-major; Kobe Jones 6'4", 250 Jr. OL/DL ( should blow up on the recruiting scene this year ); Jr. Lorenzo Dantzler 6'4", 230 DL, Sr. Raphael Leonard 6'3", 180 WR, will get looks from D1.

I assume so since they didn't lose in week one.

A friend of mine who lives in Oxford (he's a Bulldog), and who has seen his fair share of HS football games just tweeted this:

"I don't recall ever seeing a high school team as good as Starkville is."

We will find out next week on WP part of the equation and that should give us a good indication of the others ( WP played USP pretty tough for 3+qtrs last week ). I wouldn't leave Tupelo out of the " best in the state " question just yet.

Jackets win the Little Egg Bowl 52-29. This means they have won their first two games by a combined score of 103-48.

It's always better in Starkville.

Pretty damn proud to be a Yellow Jacket. Thought they'd win, but wow. Leonard ands AJ Brown are legit receivers. Horsely and Matt Fuller, two talented senior backs.

Along with Jones (who State is close to offering) on D, junior DE Maleke Bell is getting looking looks. Jacorey Douglas had two picks vs Noxubee. They are just absolutely loaded with experience and speed on both sides and a really good HS kicker in Godley.

Remember when Jamie Mitchell took over, he barely had 45 on the roster. Apathy had taken over, for which there is no excuse at SHS. Dude is one of the best.

Jamie Mitchell was my OC in high school 20+ yrs ago. Great guy! Great coach! He is a huge MSU fan too!

Starkville cared more. This was their SuperBowl, and Oxford has bigger programs to worry about- therefore, this game didn't count.
