Well I decided to go ahead and break down the 2014-2015 Basketball Schedule with my predictions since the full schedule was released on Friday. Figured it would be a change of pace from football and create a little conversation/debate. I'll warn you now, my prediction WILL surprise most of you and will cause a lot of people to call me crazy.

I'm not sure we can get to 20 wins. I don't see us winning in Oxford, I don't see us beating Vandy twice . I do think you have the non conference schedule done right. All of those look good. I think 19 total wins is probably the most I could predict us to win. But still a good job on the article.

10-3 seems about right with that OOC schedule. I'd expect a little under .500 in the league though.

Don't think we go unscathed through the 3 game stretch of @Tulane, @Oregon State and home to Arkansas State. No way we are .500 in SEC imo. SEC is going to be improved top to bottom 1-14 except UT will take a step or two back. Other than them and Florida I expect all teams 1-14 to be better so it's going to be very difficult to get 9 SEC wins.

I made this prediction and when I had completed it, I knew that it wouldn't get much traction. But I decided I would go ahead and throw my prediction out there and have it on the record, so to speak. I'd love for this to be the end result.

If this happens, the fanbase would be united to get rid of Ray. I think this record has 0 chance of happening. You have us losing to Arkansas State and Western Carolina? I have my doubts about Ray with the best of them but we could have one of us Elite posters coach and beat those two teams...

I love the optimism and I think a 20 win season is possible, but I don't think our schedule gives us nearly good enough of an RPI to get an at large at 21-10 (11-7). Probably a 3 or 4 seed in the NIT.

This is just my own thinking for this and how I think the team will do this season. I presented it as a point of conversation/debate. I want everyone else to form their own opinion and argue their points. I don't mind being told that I'm crazy for thinking this. In fact, I expect it and I've already been told that multiple times so I think I'm pretty good. But the way I look at it, we're going to improve dramatically this season. That's just my opinion.

Fair enough. It also depends on how the rest of the teams do this season. It's very fluid and I was simply going off of last season's numbers and the lowest that a SEC team got in for.

Not a bad prediction and love your optimism. I would go with the same OOC with a 7-11 conference record for an overall of 17-14 which shows enough improvement to keep the heat off of him for one more year. If he has that record and pulls in Malik, we should make the tourney in year 4. I would be satisfied with those results.

OOC, in my opinion, is the easy call in this. 10-3 is VERY possible and likely this season in OOC and we will most likely get slammed for our weak SOS in the OOC. SEC play is a whole different animal. The reasoning behind me splitting the series with Arkansas is because, traditionally, Arky plays bad at the Hump and we play bad at Bud Walton Arena. I picked us to sweep TSUN because I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I had us lose to them (call me a homer). Oregon State will be a win because of the fact that they fired their HC. Mizzou home win is based on it being Senior Night and the team wanting to roll into the postseason with momentum. I could explain everything.

Just checked Arkansas State's roster and they lost their top 3 scorers to graduation so we should win that one. Oregon State was 6-3 at home in the Pac12 last year with wins over some good teams like UCLA, Arizona St., Stanford and Oregon. They return 4 of their top 5 scorers and all 3 of their top 3. That game is a loss.

We won't beat Mizzou. They are going to be the 3rd best basketball program in the SEC over these next 20 years. Even with a shitty coach. Mizzou is a top 25 basketball program all-time.

I think we might be better served with a basketball goal thread -- as in -- "what would it take to make you happy" in basketball.

For me, 17 is the floor for this year. Will be highly disappointed with anything less. Anything less and he'll have to sign Malik for me not to join the bandwagon that is seriously questioning him. 17 wins and get Malik and I'm about where I am with Mullen right now -- slightly on his side of the fence and just waiting to see the next page of results to truly start to make up my mind. 20+ and I'm securely on the Ray bandwagon even if he doesn't get Malik... 18+ and I'm securely on the Ray bandwagon if he gets Malik...

As of today, I think 19-20 is a reasonable number...

If we go 17-14 and land Malik, we will go to the NCAA tournament in Ray's 4th year which is acceptable to me considering Ray has never been a head coach before.
