4 players (reportedly) will be expelled and the school will vacate all 12 wins from the 2012 season due to academic and sexual misconduct.

Vacating wins would be the kind of penalties that Notre Dame receives. #nobodycares

"If we vacate 2012 wins like the season never happened, does that mean Lennay is real?"

ha

I'll bet the balance of my V cash that Notre Dame doesn't get jack squat from the NCAA. They'll accept the vacating of wins and maybe restrict a couple of schollies but nothing substantial. Now, that being said, Holy Cross better look out. The NCAA may nuke them for what Notre Dame did.

Reports coming out that the tutor who was writing papers in exchange for the D was male......well then.

Lennay was real then. Still say Michael Sam didn't break any ground in the NFL.

No probation? Who cares about vacated wins?

The vacated wins would only matter if they had actually won the NC that year.... What a joke

Ole Miss had an academically ineligible player in 2012, they announced it, didn't vacate wins, and told the NCAA to kiss their ass.

LONG LIVE BRACKY BRETT!!

F*ck vacated wins.

And in that same vein, we are 45-59-6 vs. Ole Miss and 14-12-1 vs. Southern Miss. Friggin pet peeve when people use our 'forfeited' record, it's bullsh*t. On the field counts, punishment comes afterwards.

Rumor: 22 former and current players involved in academic scandal with possibility of vacating multiple years of wins.

If someone told you that your high school had to vacate even win during the years you played would you even care?

Personally I wouldn't care a bit, those wins are theirs no one can take them away.

For instance if the NCAA took AUs championship away, because of Newton it wouldn't mean anything. They still won it and you can't take that memory and feeling away.

If ND's 2013 wins are vacated will they be preseason ranked? Surely one couldn't justify having a team ranked that didn't win a single game the year prior?

That press conference was the equivalent of "No comment."

Vacating wins is weak sauce punishment. Wouldn't expect anything less from Notre Dame. I for sure will remember Alabama stopping a new one in them and Manti Te'o missing 20 tackles and being the worst LB ever to finish 2nd in the Heisman. That guy got catfished. For an entire year.

vacating games won't make it go away ND

Excellent question and my answer would be that yes they would be because you don't make rankings based of the previous season more than you make rankings off of what you expect for this season

although anyone with a scintilla of football knowledge knew what was coming, that ND win was still so very satisfying...
