I agree, and it appears that he is making Bench a priority. I really hope we close e deal with him. It would not be good to lose a battle with South Florida.

Wow, if we land this guy, and then sign a QB in this next class, we'll actually have a Jr., So., RFr. and a true Fr. on the roster. Honestly if we're going to be a dual-threat QB team (which we should be), we'll need to play more than one at a time. So Bench should feel good about coming to MSU regardless of whether Prescott is ahead of him on the depth chart. He'll likely play and then start full-time his Sr. year.

If this is the case and he chooses USF, then all the kid cares about is starting immediately and being given the starting job.

I hope he comes. We certainly need him. But our sell cannot be crowd size. It's got to be the potential for a national stage. Yea, State has not been on one very often, but South Florida isnt really the place either. We have the tv package. He will play for a team that has made bowls 3 straight times and against the nations best.

Ways to get on the field game one or two or three

Scenario 1.........He walks in and beats out Tyler and Dak this fall. HIGHLY unlikely
Scenario 2.........He walks in and beats out Dak and Tyler fails in the first three games
Scenario 3.........He walks in, beats out neither, and has a chance to learn the playbook (this is something he mentioned in the article that he was fine with)
Catastrophy 4.....He walks in, beats out neither and both go down by injury. We are forced to burn a redshirt on him to make a bowl.

My feeling is that he negotiates his right to keep the redshirt on if the team is past game 3.
