One of these pictures was taken around 1969, the other around 1997. Which is which?

OK, the "Archie" sign is a giveaway for the 1969 photo.

The point is, not much has changed. Did the confederate sympathy at Ole Miss disappear in 1997 when Robert Khayat banned "sticks" so that they couldn't wave these flags anymore? Of course not.

BTW, I could swear I read somewhere that their gray football pants represents confederate gray. Although I can't find that reference on the internets. They may have deleted it just like they deleted the origins of the name "Ole Miss".

Well, I've definitely heard them called both the "university grey's" and the "rebel greys", both obviously in reference to the Mississippi soldiers that were annihilated at Gettysburg along with the rest of Pickett's men.

That being said, the 1990's picture was almost 20 years ago, so I'm sure a lot has changed.

Actually, the Archie sign didn't give away anything. That totally could have been 1997.

Given that nothing changed between 1969 and 1997 (almost 30 years), I wouldn't assume much has changed since 1997.

The crowd's diversity certainly didn't change in that 30 year span....
