Worth the price of admission or just another chain place?

Good food but several have been terribly run the last few times I have been in them. Went to juco with the son of the owner. That was one crazy dude, both figuratively and literally.
Penn's always had had good food though

Not bad for what it is though. Semi fast fried fish and chicken

It'll never be as good as the original one with the original owners and cook staff......but they historically have good food. And the hushpuppies are Def legit!

Not a chain, a Mississippi home grown catfish joint with great chicken on stick too.

Bojangles has been bought and will become Denney's. Good breakfast for Sunday mornings after Gameday to take pressure off of Starkville Cafe.

Denny's should live off of drunk kids for a long time. I've visited the one off of Beale Str. quite a few times late at night.

For the record, the orginal Penn's was in Canton. My dad is from there and they lived next door to him.

If you're talking about the one across from the double tree and red birds stadium, I hear ya. Go there every time I'm partying in Memphis

A long time ago Penn's used to have a trailer in the LFL circa 1993. That was awesome. Every time I go to the State Fair, I have to get me some Penn's.

It's like fast food catfish, but it's really good. If you're expecting Middendorf's, you'll be disappointed. If you're expecting fast food catfish, you'll be happy.

If I am not mistaken Penn's sold chicken and catfish on a stick in the early 90s at Scott Field (at least on the East Side). They were always sold out about half-way through the 2nd quarter. If it wasn't them, whoever was selling it could effin cook!
