6'5" shooter will help. I hope he shoots a high % 3 because that's the area he can add value. He's not a slasher and won't be taking it to the rack. He seems very well controlled and knows how to create from the defensive side of the court and by opening up passing lanes. One thing I really liked that others may not have noticed... he made the zone defense respect him at the top of the key. they backed out to guard the wings and he pulled it back and shot. you have to make the defense respect you there and he understands that. smart player who may be able to help the offense a good bit immediately with his brain and 3-point shot.

He has a nice fluid shot and he leads with his right foot (it is in front of his left foot by 12" or so) a trait of very good shooters. Line your elbow up to your knee and BEEF. He already does this. Nice nice nice pickup here!!

First of all getting a guy like Weatherspoon likely increases our chances of getting Newman. I certainly think you are being dense making proclamations like "we won't land Newman" when you have no more idea what's being discussed with Horatio and his son in their household than anyone else here. Secondly, yes we should be spending just as much time on guys just below the elite level like this Weatherspoon and others because as much as I would like to get Newman we all know that even if he comes we likely won't get to enjoy him for more than one year. Can't very well build the foundation of a basketball program on a one and done player.

No. Yesterday was and is a great day for MSU hoops and Rick Ray. It's a big step forward. It's to be celebrated for a minute or two. Enjoy the moment.

Kegler is a stud. He transferred to Arlington Day School in Jacksonville, FL though. Hopefully we have a shot.

I've seen Weatherspoon play before. I saw someone mentioned he could possibly play the 1, but I'd be highly surprised if he ever did. I didn't get that feel from him at all, maybe in 2A high school ball he could. I do know that he can shoot the rock better than anyone on our team currently. Except maybe Dunlap.

The PG talk comes from him playing it during the summer for his AAU team. He's the point & Malik plays the 2. A lot of the talking recruiting heads seem to think the point may be his best position long term.

If the kid turns out anything like Ross, I would take him in a heart beat. Ross had some question marks during his recruitment, but he had two fantastic seasons at OSU and got drafted this year.
