Not the worlds best football list, but that's a pretty good brain power list. I like that in a lineman

I'll always take guys that are recruited by Johnson at GT or by Cutcliffe at Duke. GT puts a huge premium on road graters up front, and Cut is one of the better evaluation guys around...

6'3 319 going into senior year ain't too bad. Do we see him as a guard or tackle for us?

Boom, I like it. Georgia Tech runs the option like no other, and they wanted this big fella, but we took him out of their back yard.

Given the staffs penchant for 6'6" tackles, gotta be a guard.... That and the guy moves like a guard.

Yeah, that's what I gathered. Unless he sprouts up a few inches, that's what I would assume. Hearing "road grater" immediately tells me interior, especially at 6'3

3 things I notice right away about this kid just from his video...

1) he gets low to gain leverage
2) he picks up the blitz really well, and with little panic or hesitation for a Junior in Highschool
3) he keeps those legs churning when he's on a block and seems to have quick feet

Road grater

I love the cross block at the 1:38 mark..

Nice pancake at the 3:25 mark.. and again at 3:33..

Over and over again you can see him making the calls at the Line of scrimmage... SMART!!!! He will be a center for us.

Hevesy believes in sacrificing a little ability for more brain power from what I can tell. After coaching some of the dumbasses I coached, cant say I disagree.

Boston College is a NFL OL factory. If they are recruiting a lineman, then something is there. The three best programs in the country at developing NFL linemen are Boston College, Virginia, and Iowa.

I have heard hevesy say numerous times "a drooler can play guard in our offense... They have one job knock three techniques backwards!" centers make all of the calls and tackles have a lot of thinking also... Guards need to be shorter compact road graters.. This is not a speculation... I have spoken to hevesy numerous times about it... I bet Trey ends up at center

I was a veer/option guy. We ran it over and over and over. We are in the 7th or 8th game of the year- my 2nd year in public school ball- I have a Jr LT. 3rd and short we run the veer to his side and he blocks out. LB shoots B gap- nails FB in hole- no gain. BLOCKS OUT. Are you ****ing kidding me??? We've run that ******* play 389 times by the 7th or 8th game and at no time EVAHHHHH are you supposed to block out.

I thought I was going to spontaneously combust. This is what the average fan doesnt understand about coaching. Your players will literally do some of th dumbest shit under pressure that you have ever seen in your life.

No kidding- you really dont even have to be able to form a sentence to play D-Line. Just ask Jerrell Powe

Offensive linemen and DBS are the two most frustrating positions to coach. However, they are definitely the most rewarding. We've broken the huddle from the sidelines to run trap or inside veer and I'll tell the tackle, don't block the three tech. That sob freakibg washes the sucker. Of course everything gets bounced and the full back gets decrapitated. Second most frustrating thing is a db in man to man coverage and the sucker is undressing the quarterback with his eyes. That makes me wanna stab a child.

Not just road graters. Their offensive linemen have to be athletic as well because they do a lot of pulling and combination blocks in that wing/double-wing hybrid offense.

Not a bad pickup at all.
