Thoughts?

I'm surprised they have OM's DL ranked higher than ours

I think that ranking is based purely on # of starts. This along with QB shows why Alabama better hope they've recruited as well as everyone thinks they have.

I think you're right about that ranking. Thanks

but look at OM's OL starts & rank ... with no running back that's gonna sting them

The problem with ranking ability by the # of starts is that it discounts depth, coaching, actual playing time, strength, and experience against quality opponents.

I do tend to agree that success begins in the trenches. You got no line, you got no game. But a good scheme and proper play calling can overcome many deficiencies. In Auburn's running game, deception and misdirection is what gained yards for them last year. They ran the ball 70% of the time.

The read option has been such a success for MSU as well as other programs because it makes the linebackers commit. Making the right read gains good yardage, especially when you have a QB like Dak Prescott or Nick Marshall.

Bulimia down at Arky is going old school, so I guess we'll see how far that takes him. Saban runs right at you, but I think a seasoned front 7 and secondary can take them this year.

In short, the game is changing, and I'm hoping we're ahead of the curve in that regard.
