I saw where his dad used to play for OM, but we have pulled players like that before. Hopefully, he will see how much better our QB situation is and decide to play for the better program.

No chance. Dad is a diehard Rebel. He used to help David Johnson with the 247 site when it 1st got up & running.

We would have about as much chance of getting Eli Manning to MSU.

I don't know if anyone remembers this or not, but Jeremy Liggins had that big announcement on the Square to tell everyone where he was going to college. Terrance Metcalf was there doing some kind of announcing/commentary. Anyway, so Liggins commits to LSU. Metcalf then tells him right there to his face. "You just made a mistake."

Metcalf is the "typical" rebel. The story goes that he was bought and paid for (outbid bama) out of high school. Like a good rebel, he has stayed bought and paid for.

Terrance Metcalf played for Clarksdale, Mississippi Bears and Chicago Bears OL..Big Oxford guy and best friends with David Johnson who runs 247 in Oxford...No chance on Metcalf jr.

It is just our luck that the best player in the state for 2016 would be a die hard Bear legacy.

Just goes that way sometimes.

Just like us when we land Fletcher Adams. bears have no shot there.

That is why it is so important for us to have a 9+ win season. We can't sustain success by relying on MS recruits. IT is simply too volatile. Some years we can dominate like this year, but then we have years like last year and 2013 when there simply aren't enough SEC athletes to go around. We need to be able to recruit AL, LA and GA hard.

Octavious Cooley isn't a Bear legacy.
