I realize the sample size isn't huge, but perhaps it's time to leave lastella hitting 7th.

Lastella hitting 1st and 2nd: 2-28 (~.080)
Lastella hitting 7th: 47-137 (~.340)

I'd give him a few more starts at top of lineup, but not many

S. Simmons isn't the same as earlier this year. I'd give Jamie a chance if Simmons sputters his next appearance

Love Juan Jamie. Dude needs to be with the big club. Simmons hasn't been as good lately, but it could just be a case of MLB hitters making adjustments. Now it's up to him as a pitcher to make his own adjustments. He's just a rookie. Expecting him to be as dominant as Kimbrel every time out just isn't realistic. Kimbrel is the only guy as dominant as Kimbrel every time out. Hell, the guy has been one of the best closers in history through his first 5 seasons and even he started the year off rough. Way too soon to give up on Shea. It'll be interesting to see if we can get Andrew Miller from the Sox. Maybe we could try to "throw in" BJ (fat chance).

My batting order would be this:

1. BJ
2. Simba
3. Freddie
4. J-Up
5. Gattis
6. J-Hey
7. La Stella
8. CJ

Spots 4-6 are pretty interchangeable in my mind, so it's really personal preference. I also wouldn't object to J-Up in the 2 hole, moving Gattis & J-Hey up, putting CJ 6, and dropping Simba to 8.

Not giving up on Simmons at all. I don't think he's earned the right to work thru hard times though esp with Jamie ready IMO

Jamie has been terrible since going back down to AAA. We need to trade for a setup guy.

We're trying to get Miller. The problem is we aren't the only ones interested, and the Sox are going to ask for pretty solid return for him. Dunno how much we have to give up to go get him. But we definitely need to make it happen somehow.

Good question, but supposedly they're still sellers. Got an ESPN alert this morning that we're among the teams Cliff Lee has approved for a trade. Doubt it will happen, but I did find it interesting. Putting him in the rotation to go with Teheran, Santana, and Minor would be nasty.

I'd give La Stella one more 5-10 game ride at the top to see if that was just a fluke b/c we can't keep having terrible OBP at the top and wasting the extra AB.
