Cox didn't look nearly that fast to me last season. His 40 may be plastic. But it also could've been a byproduct of playing out of position at CB and thinking too much. He may look much faster this season now that he's back at his natural S spot. Even if Cox's 40 is plastic, that's still a helluva lot of very, very fast guys on our roster or soon to be on the roster. Can't coach speed and speed kills.

I think Cox's issue was definitely his position. His JUCO tape is as electric as it gets. He is legitimately that fast.

Dan Mullen is building himself a very fast and physical football team. The types of players he is getting are very similar to the types he and Urban Meyer got at Florida. Speed at the running backs and slot positions. Size at the outside receiver positions. Fast, athletic tight end types. Long athletic defensive ends with an angular build. Linebackers that can run and hit. Defensive tackles that can attack the gaps and also take on two blockers. Speed and aggressive, physical play in the secondary. Dual threats at quarterback. The one thing he already has on campus that Florida didn't after Tebow left was the big, power running back. He's got that in Ashton Shumpert and Aeris Williams, and Alec Murphy brings that ability as well.
