Gibson is a beast

Reminds me of Ballard. One of my all-time favorites.

To me, this is a huge pickup. We have gotten several big backs lately that can bruise, but in my opinion they haven't had the greatest breakaway speed to go with that power. Nothing wrong with that, but Gibson seems like a true multi-dimensional back IMO. The type that can be that Ballard that can run you over or run by you. Really excited to have him on board. Add about 20 more pounds to him and you could have Vick Ballard 2.0 or better

Logan Lowery with a nice write up on Gibson. Check out the offer list!

Mississippi State added its third commitment and second running back pledge on Friday as four-star Nick Gibson made his call.

The 5-foot-11, 191-pounder from Pinson, Ala., joins Alec Murphy (who also committed Friday) and Kentavious Thomas in the Bulldogs backfield for the 2015 class.

Gibson chose MSU over offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida State, Kentucky, Louisville, N.C. State and Tennessee.

The Pinson Valley standout is considered the No. 24 running back nationally by 247Sports.com composite and the ninth-rated prospect in Alabama.

Last season, Gibson rushed 293 times for 2,205 yards and 27 touchdowns while hauling in 25 passes for 266 yards and three more scores as the Indians went 7-5 and reached the second round of the Class 5A Playoffs.
