Damn Hack, what did I ever do to you.... jk

Actually, it will be $19 million from what I just read. Wish my boss would fire me and let me walk with that kind of jack.

The MLBPA is ridiculous. While the '94 holdout may have hurt the game at large, it cemented the MLBPA as the most powerful player union in history. Only in baseball do you get paid most or all of your contract when you get cut. It ought to be like the NFL where you aren't owed a cent if you're cut. Just ridiculous.

Disagree. I hate that the NFL can just cut players and not have to pay them a cent. Half the salary should be fair. Having to pay Uggla 19 mill is ridiculous and having to pay him nothing is ridiculous. Happy medium imo.

It was a move that had to be made, and the team must have exhausted all options of trying to move him and get someone to take at least some of the salary on. It is hard to watch a player like Dan Uggla who is a good guy simply lose his talent and ability to do what he loves to do.

I don't feel bad for a guy that refuses to change his quirky tourettes batting stance after 7 years of shite. Ya think you'd try something different after the last 1000 strikeouts. Just me though

I liked uggla but it was time for this. I still say he shoulda been on the postseason roster last year but once nothing changed a month into this year it was time.

I guess we could not even pay 1/2 salary and let someone else have him. Does a team have an option to send him to Venezuelan A-ball. Given the option, I would force him to earn the money the hardest possible way. Thus seeing him booed by a crowd of 10 while he sits in a cardboard and corrugated roof dugout

THAT' S IT . THIS IS A DAMNED MISSISSIPPI STATE Board and I'm tired of READING ABOUT THE CRAPPY BRAVES LIVING IN THE 90's NOT WINNING A WORLD SERIES.

THIS BELONGS IN OFF-TOPIC and YOU SHOULD PUT OT IN THE TITLE.

and Go Red Sox.

usually you cannot send a FA-signee down without the player's approval. i do not know how the Braves managed that with KK.

Way to overreact. Fail to see how an MLB post on a sports forum is OT. Regardless......

Because he approved the demotion, as best I remember. He realized he was sucking and did the best thing for the club. Mad respect for KK for that.
