Cool

Damn this got off topic fast. Garner is leading his league in HR and SLG. Don't act like Ingram, Gordon, Rooker etc bat is near that caliber right now. For those posters that understand baseball and aren't agenda driven know when I say things like Heck should start and Lindgren would go wild know that I've got a great track record. Wanting to see us maximize our chances for success is why I post and losing Garner will greatly reduce our offensive output.

Rea is still only hitting .133, but he has 2 home runs and 8 RBI's in 30 AB's. The biggest concern is he has 12 K's in those 30 AB's.

So, he has 4 hits, but 3 of them are extra base hits.

The biggest thing is that Rea is getting at bats and playing time. If he doesn't get it done, we have Rooker and we also have Cole Gordon, who not to beat a dead horse I think would have passed Garner in the fall.

Well, at least he nailed Lindgren being drafted in the first round and Bobby Wahl failing in the minors.**

He's T7 in his league in homers now... And first or second in homers per AB...

Seems he's working purely on his power stroke this summer. Sure hope he figures it out...

Rooker will play a lot at 1B or OF next year. A rising star

Rooker has the speed of a gazelle so don't worry about him having to find a position. I could see him in RF for us next year.

That's the thing about him. He has power and he has size, but he can also run which makes him able to play an OF position. I think long-term he is an OF for us because of his speed, but we'll see.

Wow at how badly Swinarski is struggling this summer... I didn't really realize... hope he figures it out.

Swinarski will be fine, still young. We will be very good in OF next year/

Swinarski hasn't played very many games though, which is kind of odd. I don't know if he had an injury or what happened.

His K rate is what's disturbing to me... Shouldn't be that high in summer ball for someone that played elite travelling ball in highschool. He's really struggling right now -- I just hope he's healthy and figures it out. The more guys with a bit of power, the better...

does someone know something about Rooker's defensive capability at 1b. Please tell me he is Raffo II.

He should be adequate at first if he plays there. I wouldn't rule out Cole Gordon at first and Rooker in the OF long term, although both of them run pretty well for their size.

I'm glad Brent Rooker is having a great summer. He's getting some at bats and getting a chance to see some live pitches. He's always had a lot of raw power, but he had some confidence issues early on at MSU. A strong summer should give him the confidence he needs going into the fall. He projects as a 1B/corner outfield guy. He ran a 6.9 60, and he has solid arm strength. With his ability to run, he may find himself in the outfield.

Where do you think Dylan Ingram ends up playing?

He's a 1B/DH all the way...

Good question. He will contend for first base as well, but I think he is more of a 1B/DH type of guy.

Personally I like Rooker and Gordon better than Ingram, but I'm also willing to give Ingram a chance to prove himself.

Saw tweet last night that Rooker threw someone out on a laser. I think you might see him make a case to be our RF next year. Have Ingram/Gordon battle it out for first.
