Let's send it on over to our resident experts, Dawg61 and Brad Stevens. What do you think guys?

I am not a recruiting expert, and I've never heard of the kid, so I will defer from passing judgment one way or the other. What I CAN tell you is DAWG61 is currently doing a highly valid and reliable google search, and will soon post his knowledgable information here for us. My guess is if he averages over about 15 ppg (no matter what league or what background or what system), he will say we should add him. We do have that extra scholarship, ya know? **

So, hypothetically ... If Steele hasn't graduated from State, then he has another year of eligibility. Any chance Ray gives him a chance to return for his SR year?

Was averaging 16 points per game in juco before transferring mid-season. LINK (https://middletennessee.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1501743)

Eh, probably not. Wouldn't send the right message given the direction Ray went with the team. I wish it could/would happen though. Even with the roster finally in decent shape, we could definitely use a senior guard who can shoot.

We could've used it last year when we actually wanted him to play.

And, I think there is not much chance of Steele suiting up at State again.

BUT, we do have a scholarship available and Ray told me that he wasn't planning to sign another player to fill it THIS year. So, basically, Ray will not be tying up a grant cause Steele is a SR. If both weren't so hard headed, this could be a 'win-win' situation for both. If for nothing else, Steele could shoot the 3 and was deadly from the FT line.
