My older son took these yesterday and I thought I'd share them here. The new NEZ looks really good from the air!

Wow, it's looking great. We're going to have one of the nicest stadiums in the country; not the biggest obviously, but still really nice looking.

Thanks for posting!!!

Interesting that the facade is somewhat asymmetrical

Interesting that the facade is somewhat asymmetrical

They would have made it symmetrical but that would have destroyed a major road that runs right behind the stadium. That's the reason behind the weird linear look to it.

I personally like that look. I never liked the perfectly symmetrical sporting venues. Too boring looking. Also, thanks for the pics godlluB. Nice job! I'm really impressed with the whole project.

The SEC is big boy football, and we finally have a big boy stadium. It looks amazing.

Thanks for sharing these pics man. Tell your son thanks too.

I like the asymmetry as well. Fenway Park is beautiful and unique because it fits well within the city and flows with the streets.

At first I wasn't too sure about the asymmetry, but after seeing it take shape and knowing that it will make our stadium unique.....I love it and I think it sets us apart. Anything that sets us apart while also being first class, I'm all for. This fits that mold. I think it is going to look incredible when it's finished.

I was observing not complaining. Assymetry will give it character.

I also like the asymmetry. Anyone know the plans for the road in front of the new entryway? I imagine it will be turned into a wide sidewalk, but who knows...

I seriously doubt they will take that out. Staff uses the road too much and makes it very inconvenient to traverse campus because you have to go pretty much around the world to drive to the other side, AKA drive from the first intersection by Architecture, go all the way to the Hump, then go by Zacharias Village, then finally turn by the Chapel to get to the other side. Other than just keeping the road and going directly from Point A to Point B. I just don't see them taking out that road without a fight from Staff.

At long last, its coming together that we aren't at the bottom of the stairs looking up at everyone else in the conference anymore.

It almost looks and feels like a totally different place on the ground, too. I hope we don't have too much of a problem with people choosing to watch the game from the junction on the new tron instead of coming in, though..

it's weird that your statement makes so much sense... but it does.

So, I would assume that the scoreboard club seats can be expanded around on the sides when we need to grow.

Not adding them now is probably a good thing as ticket sales are starting to suffer nationally and will probably impact us as well. Stadium expansions everywhere are likely to slow down for a while.

Are there still plans to take the chairbacks and put in an east side club or boxes? We appear to still have demand for premium seats even if demand of the less expensive options are tapering off.

Wow, we've come a long way in a few years. Here's a look at some past aerials:

I assume you are talking about the west side? Since the east is the new upper deck that already has ~ 52
skyboxes.

I agree that we either need more skyboxes or to go more expensive on them. They sold out by far the quickest of anything in the expansion.

Personally, I'd love to see us pull an LSU and scrap the west expansion/upper deck we did in the 80s altogether and start over on that side. It's what makes the most fiscal sense to me IMO. Wait till the demand is there, then add another 52 skyboxes, and instead of a true club, make the lower level of it all loge with individual refrigerators like Mizzou just completed.

Top 3 nicest stadiums in the SEC now imo

Now if they would dress up the press box area a bit the whole place would look really nice. It kind of looks like it was added on as an after thought and build with cheap ply wood. Everything else is looking great.
