My boss was a catcher for Arizona as a college student in 90's. He played summer league with Freeman and Piatt. Said Freeman was a great guy and that Piatt was very good. He also had great things to say about Dubose. My boss is currently a senior executive for a major corporation and his Arizona teams never made a regional. Thus, he has no bitter memory against any other college, save Arizona State.

Interestingly, his summer-league team had an LSU assistant coach that pushed roids and other advantages. MSU guys played no part, but the LSU-coach basically credited LSU's success to the practice. When he said this, I asked about "Bianco", but he did not remember who the coach was. Further, I have no idea if Bianco was an LSU coach at this time or participated in summer league baseball.

I know this is just a cluster of circumstance, but I am definitely concerned that MSU is playing against competition with an edge. If you google "bat shaving and rolling" you will see this is already a small industry that is self-aware of the advantage their bats provide.

After my boss told me about this, I grew in admiration for Jon Harden's exploits against those juiced and enhanced LSU teams. I know we all sort of knew this, but it is interesting to here someone else confirm it.

If any other mod wants to unlock this, go for it. I'll sit it out. I just have a feeling.
