I was reading THIS (http://maroonandwhitenation.com/2014/06/17/season-tickets-going-fast/) article on M&W Nation, and I got to wondering. How does the school set up the tickets? Is the objective to sell out the stadium with season tickets, or do they reserve a certain number for individual game purchases?

So far, we've sold around 45k season tickets. That leaves about 16,000. How many of those are student seats? 10k? What about the visiting team- fans/band?

This is probably explained somewhere and I just can't find it. Anyway, I thought I'd ask.

Student tickets are already added to the Season Ticket numbers. They assume a sell-out.

I was listening to the B&B Show this morning, and I think I heard Carskadon say 11K student tickets.

I think visitors get between 5k-7500 tickets.

I can't answer the question about visitor seats exactly- but according to the interactive seating chart on hailstate.com, Sections 24 and 25 (The last two sections, really 1.5 sections, on the East side) and the majority of the West Side upper deck are listed as "Visitor" seating. We are required by the conference to save at least 2,000 tickets in the lower level for visiting teams. I'm guessing section 24-25 is not many more than 2,000 seats and, if there is demand, both upper decks would be sold as season tickets.

So 45k already sold (includes student tickets), plus 6k for visitors, leaving around 10k for further season tickets and individual game sales. Thanks for the info! I wonder how the numbers compare to this time last year.

Yes. I think I recall us leaving 6 or 8k allotments for visitors to purchase and then we can sell the ones not purchased by visitors, to general public.
