Virginia pitcher consistently 94-95 and hit 98. Horned Frog pitcher keeping everything between 94-96. Both have pretty damn good breaking pitches as well. Fun to watch.

Looks like the home plate ump is the only one who can't handle the speed, or he's ready to hit the bar. The strike zone has suddenly expanded.

Just as things have been going all year for them, this is a best case scenario for UM. Either team they play will have already burned their closer. Man, someone needs to go ahead and put those lucky bastards out.

Amen.personally I would rather them play tcu since they've already played UVA, but the game needs to end soon to keep the teams from burning more pitchers.

No shit. They've been the luckiest team in entire tournament and luck has been the major factor in their victories. That's the sad part. They've bask all been given 60-70% of their runs in the last 4 games, including the last two in Lafayette. Walks and errors are the only reasons they are still alive. Shit, even Washington gave them the regional with walks, wild pitches and errors. They could have, and should have, easily lost the opening weekend.

Man, both these teams have amazing bullpens... Too bad they'll all be too worn out by the time UM gets to them.

I swear, I've never seen a team catch so many breaks in a season. Plugging in two excellent starters who had previously been totally unproven; have a .230 hitter step in to replace and exceed the performance of a Johnny Bench Award winner; four straight walk offs in the early season; went 8-0 in their first eight 1-run games; beating Auburn on a walk-off home run that was really just a shitty intentional walk; winning a game because an outfielder fell down catching a routine fly ball for the final out; totally missing the injury bug; all the runs/games they've been handed this entire postseason on walks/errors; etc.

Now, right before they have to go up against one of the two best bullpens in college baseball, each team plays in a 15+ inning marathon that burns up all their arms. Bianco must have offered up his first born to the baseball gods before this season.

UVA bunted *gasp* the runner from second to third. 1 on, 1 out.

UVA just won it. I'm glad they won. UM would theoretically have a tougher time beating them twice than they would beating TCU twice.

It sucks that TCU already burned most of their pen though.

Walk-off! UVA wins 3-2 in 15 innings

13 of 16 teams in the 8 games have scored 3 runs or less.

Should be an embarrassment to the NCAA/Omaha. Supposed to be our sports pinnacle moment each year and it is so very badly cheapened. Shit break out the old gorilla ball -5's for just the CWS. With that big ass park and constant wind blowing in it would make it normal baseball.

UVA gets 3 days off for winning tonight. Their pen will be just fine.

Yes sorry, UVA hasn't lost yet so they get 3 days off and TCU only gets today off same as Ole Miss.

Ole Miss has to play thursday and if they win they have to play again Friday. Virginia is loaded with pitchers and don't have to play again until Friday and they will have the starter back from their first game. Ole Miss has a very steep hill to clime.

OM first has to get past TCU, but you are right whoever wins has a long way to go to get past UVA.

TCU has everybody available in their bullpen except for maybe their closer that threw 33 pitches vs Texas Tech and 46 last night. He may be able to pitch an inning or two if needed, but doubtful. The other reliever that pitched last night only pitched 30 or 40 pitches so he may also be available for a few innings if needed. TCU has everybody else rested and ready to go.

I imagine that OM will start Sam Smith, but he will likely be given a short leash considering that they have their entire bullpen available.

Hopefully TCU can get up by a few runs early and their pitching will continue to shut down opposing teams.

Agree 100%

All that luck had to be used up last game against Tech. I expect TCU to hand the Webels a good ole fashioned ass whippin tomorrow night. The frogs have a much better #3 starter than the bears.

Only leadoff runner to reach was followed by a buntfail tonight

Still 0-0 in the 6th. Pathetic and embarrassing

TCU will run out Tyler Alexander against Ole Miss, and he is one of the best freshman pitchers in the country this year. Ole Miss should have a tough time scoring a run. Problem is, while TCU may have the best pitching staff in the country, offensively, they are a complete dumpster fire. This will likely be another 1-0 to 2-1 game.

I seen it dawg

OM hasn't exactly lit it up in oMaha. They've hit about 4 balls hard in 18 innings. I don't think they will get by tomorrow. TCU is damn good.

A quick stat check shows that Alexander only has given up only 15 combined BB/HBP's in 95+ IP.

That's pretty damn good. Keep that going, and UM will have a hard time scoring runs. Alexander's given up some contact, but that doesn't really matter in TD Ameritrade- just don't put people on for free and you'll be alright.
