Looks like a good OL prospect. Between us and Louisville

The Louisville 247 guys flipped their crystal ball picks to us last night. Sounds like good news coming on a good OL.

Dude is a legit interior OL prospect. From the 3rdAnd57 mega post:

Chandler Jones (3-star) 6’4 310 Powder Springs, GA Highlights (http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1765120/highlights/111433409) Really good looking OG prospect that shows more athleticism than most inside guys. Good strength and plays mean. I’m not 100% sold that he couldn’t play OT.

Always love getting 6'4 310lb OL with a bunch of offers. We are a huge football team.

We have two tackles in Champion and Moon, so it would definitely be nice to add a good guard prospect. And guards are always going to rated lower than tackles by default; it's pretty tough to be 4 stars as a guard. Just grab some big 3-stars that are physical and have a mean streak, and you can make them into good OL without too much problem.

Don't be surprised if we move clayborn to center next year.
Flowers may easily move into that starting guard position.

OL appears to be the most problem area we have in recruiting. Most of the players we seem to be after go somewhere else. Hopefully, we can get this guy if he's pretty good. I guess we don't have a chance with the Patterson kid, who I understand is the best OL in the state.

It's getting better. With or without Patterson, this is going to be a very good OL class.

Figures. If we are in a recruiting battle with some other school for an offensive lineman, we invariably lose out. You don't suppose it could be the personality of our coach that recruits players for the offensive line. Not saying that it is, but it is strange that we seem to lose out pretty consistently on these recruiting battles.

Careful. Don't question the great Hevesy around here.

Hevesy may not be the best recruiter but we weren't even on this kids radar until about a month ago with an offer and we almost got him.

So what was the reason for the UL recruiting guys crystal balling him to us in last 24 hours?

but that is what is odd- Hevesy has been instrumental in recruiting Prescott and Chris Jones- some of our biggest names.

Yep, but we're talking about OL, so that is irrelevant. I'm glad he helped with those guys, although I highly doubt he closed them.....but why can he not "help" reel in some good OL prospects? And I'm not saying he hasn't developed the lower rated guys decently, but why can a team with the potential for a huge ground game not get a desirable OLineman?

Again, not saying he doesn't develop fairly well (he's not creating stud OLines or anything though), or that he doesn't help with other prospects. We're talking OFFENSIVE LINEMEN. Why can't he bring in top linemen?

I think it just shows that Hevesy is a MUCH better recruiter of guys that he won't be their position coach. I doubt very much that that's coincidence.

So this absolute asshole that is so terrible, is a shining beacon of light to every recruit that does not play OL??????? Really. To much simple thought here.

I don't know but its not rocket surgery, just putting 2 and 2 together. Seems Hevesy's a lot more successful in persuading kids to buy into our football program and MSU as a whole than persuading them to play directly for him. Not sure what else can be drawn from it. But maybe you are willing to believe its just coincidence and bad luck on OL he recruits.
