Think about it, for the general ignorant betting public, what have we done to make them think we can stay within a single score of an upper echelon SEC team? That's all Vegas is looking at.

Yeah, but at least recently, MSU-Auburn has been very close. 5 of the last 7 have been a touchdown or less, I believe...

Last years auburn vs MSU football game at Jordan hare. But you make a good point about public perception, they know average joe better thinks auburn by ten is a lock. Shows you how smart the oddsmakers are about making these lines.

Fwiw: Boise is +9 in their opener in Atlanta.

I'm not a traditional sports better, but will be in Las Vegas a few weeks before these games so I might play around on a couple of these just to try something new. When you make an official bet, is it based on the line at the time you make the bet or is it based on the line at kickoff?

We are favored by 3 against A&M. FWIW.

The LSU line is just free money. They have no QB. None.

They will have one by the end of the season, but for now, they are ****ed.

OM is an underdog to A&M. Only one point tho. They don't have the MSU OM game. But just going by those 2 lines I'm guessing it would be a Pickem or close to it.

What about the USM game? I'm saying we are favored by at least 18 or more.

If it's not at least 28, I'll be shocked. They are 1 for their last 24 for goodness sake.

I will get slammed for this by those that take it out of context....but USM played decent towards the end of the year. They just had no depth. That QB they have will be a good one, and they have some good receivers in Thompson from Pearl, T-Man, and the Cox kid we recruited some a few years ago (I think that's his name). Anyway, their offense could be greatly improved, but their defense will suck. We should still win comfortably by 3 TD's+ in my opinion, but don't be shocked if they hit a homerun ball or two on us and put up 14-21 points. I think it will be good to see an air raid style offense against a shitty team in game 1, so our defense will get some early work.

My early prediction would be something like...

MSU 42
USM 14

Gotta love this. LSU lost a ton and they still are a 12 point favorite over us. This is easy money. I think we win straight up down there this year. No Jeremy Hill (who shouldn't have played last year), no Mett, no Beckham and Landry and we get them early in the year. This is a recipe for us beating them.

This is probably about right. It may be the kind of thing where they are "in" the game at halftime ala JSU '09 (14-7 MSU) but are really no threat to win and it just falls apart for them in half #2. Though I'd love for it to be worse than 42-14, I could see it going down just like that with it tied 14-14 at half or us up 14-7 at half, and finishing up at 42-14. I don't think Mullen will try to prove anything or risk Dakjury other than leaving no doubt and that's fine. I just want to make sure we leave no doubt. Those folks are worse than Rebels actually about disclaimers and caveats why the game really shouldn't count or how they were still better team. You have to beat 'em by 25-35 points or they'll never admit to losing.

I take it back. You'd have to win 56-3 for them to give us credit for winning without having to talk about how close it was. 42-14? They'll insist it was closer than score but we'll know the truth.
