Looks like the field is poor condition. Have the grass growers neglected or am I just over reacting?

You're overreacting. My guess is that we pull all of that up and put down some sod sometime fairly soon.

And even if we leave that grass, you don't work to keep your grass in pristine condition all year. They'll start getting it ready in July or early August. It will look like it always does.

Not sure of the timeline, but there is always a time where the field looks like absolute shit and then they get it ready for the season. Somebody always notices it and worries about it and it always turns out fine.

No need to fret. They aren't going to waste time and money making it stay pretty 2-3 months from game time.

you're over-reacting.

they aerated the field not too long ago. they probably dragged it soon after which pulverized all the aeration cores pulled, as well as got rid of alot of thatch. they may have even top-dressed it sand already. All that combined is what you're seeing.

At the end of the season or not far after the season, they kill everything on that field.

Pretty sure last year or before, there was a shortage of our own patented grass and we had to go with something else.

I hope we get our own grass back if we haven't done so. We need to on principle.

We won't do that any time soon for several reasons.

Our patented grass is not idea for Starkville or the Southeast. It is ideal for the West coast.

Because of that, there are no suppliers of sod close. Most are in California. The transport cost of moving the sod was more than the sod.

I seen it dawg

Glad to hear somebody say "Scott Field". I'd love for those words to be used more often.

As pretty much everyone else here has said, you're overreacting. It'll be in the usual pristine condition in time for the Gilded Buzzards to invade.

Translation between Bermuda and rye. Heavily sanded. It's all good.

The previous owner of my house sanded the yard in some places. Those places are now very water-needy because sand doesn't hold water. Really chaps me.

He must been a lawn enthusiast who watered every day. No sprinklers though.

To some of us, including the OP it is simply Scott Field. I do appreciate the donations by others, but it is Scott Field.
