Just committed to MSU. He is a RHP from Tallahassee CC and went 7-1 with 5 saves and a 2.19 ERA. Had 56 K's and 20 BB's in 65.2 innings.

I'd like to see a few more Ks from a relief pitcher commit. As in, if your Ks per IP isn't > 1, you don't get an offer. Unless you're a situational ground ball guy, enough of these pitch-to-contact relievers. Get guys who can strike people the hell out.

Well Butch's track record is good enough for me. He will teach them the right way.

7.68 K's per game. 2.32 OBA. 0 stolen based allowed. Really the only negative is he's hit a disproportionate amount of batters. I don't think it's a stretch to say that he was brought in to play the Woody role from this season. Probably an upgrade.

Our pitching not going to be bad. Get some guys healthy. First time in Cohen era we have 9 count them, 9 left handed pitchers. We will be better than this year.

He had 7 saves this year so I wouldn't expect him to be a SP

I think we will be good, but I can't see us replacing Lindgren and Holder and be as good.

You should never count on something, but it's become routine for Butch to dig a pitcher out of his ass each and every season. This year it was Lindgren. Someone will step up. Holder's productivity is hard to replace, but he struggled at times this year.

True. I'm pretty happy with how a couple of our freshmen pitchers have performed in summer ball as well- Jacob Billingsley and Avery Geyer.

I'm hopeful that our guys that were freshmen this year step up for once.

Have Hudson, sexton, or Tatum thrown yet?

Hudson and Tatum have not, but they are in California with the baseball whisperer. So, I feel pretty good about them. I think Hudson is going to surprise the SEC next year. His stuff is filthy- he just has to refine it a little bit. Tatum is the furthest along of the freshmen in my opinion. He was the guy that was consistently called upon when we had a choice to use the freshmen. He needs some refinement as well. Reid Humphreys also plays for the baseball whisperer as well.

Most of the guys that have played so far are the guys that redshirted. They probably actually went to their summer teams when we were in the regionals.

Sexton is playing for the same team that Seth Heck is on.
